It’s been a while since I’ve shared a good bit of zombie whimsy, so I present to you the short film above. It was sent along by one of the film’s creators, Molly Brown, who writes:
I was the scriptwriter for “Team Deathstar Holiday Chalets,” a team competing in the Sci-Fi London 48 hour film challenge. (In case you don’t how a 48 hour challenge works, they assign each team a title for a film, plus a line of dialogue and a prop. You then have 48 hours to get a completed film incorporating all of your assigned criteria back to them.)
Our assigned title was: “THIS IS…”
Required line of Dialogue: “The floor dropped away from me before I started to follow it.”
Required prop: a map of Europe with three red circles drawn on it.As it turned out, Team Deathstar Holiday Chalets were all absolutely zombie mad; everyone on the team — even the woman who made the sandwiches — wanted to play a zombie, so naturally I wrote them a script with some zombies in it.
So yeah, that’s the story. Enjoy the rather silly results (which remind me a lot of the equally silly Look Around You, which was apparently an inspiration).
