With Halloween approaching, the zombie walks and movie screenings are coming thick and fast. Luckily, folks like Fangoria (and me, at times) take the time to round up what’s going down with the undead. (Fangoria)

In this week’s “Savage Love,” sex-advice columnist Dan Savage addresses the issue of zombie sex (it’s the second letter, you’ll have to scroll down a bit). (The Stranger)

The Reaper Awards saw a couple of zombie flicks winning. REC took home Best Indie/Foreign, while the inferior remake Quarantine took home Best Zombie. That is a TRAVESTY! REC should have nabbed best zombie, it is far better than Quarantine and reading subtitles isn’t that hard, people! Why stick the foreign stuff into some arbitrary ghetto?(Dread Central)

If you really love Night of the Creeps, maybe you should grab one of these limited-edition soundtrack CDs and get it signed? (Fangoria)

The Left 4 Dead 2 boycott is officially over. (Kotaku)

The coverage of The Zombie Game Experiment continues with some concept art. (Zombie Command)

Bah! Quaratine was the exact same movie with better lighting and better character setup. I don’t get the hate. I will give you the ending ( eveything in night vision), it was more effective in REC. But I love me some Jennifer Carpenter so maybe I’m biased

  2. You know, I just felt like it was kind of pointless. I had no issues with the lighting or character setup in REC, so “improvements” there didn’t register for me. I feel like Americans should be more open to reading subtitles, and it biases me against remakes of foreign films perhaps.

  3. Jond76 says:

Ok, fair enough. But look at it this way: since the causes of the outbreaks are different in the movies, we are likely to get two seperate but potentially equally awesome sequels!

Nothing wrong with more quality zombie films! Btw, awesome site. Keep up the good work.

  4. True enough. And that is something we can ALL agree on.

BTW, REC has a sequel already (with a third in discussion) and Quarantine has one announced, and AFAIK, there is no connection!

Thanks for the kind words, too.
