On the eve of Zombieland‘s release there is a buttload of press hitting for it. An interview with Emma Stone, and this interview with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrleson, or this interview with director Ruben Flesicher. There’s plenty more out there (I actually misplaced another interview with Fleischer somewhere in my bazillion bookmarks…) go find it if that doesn’t satiate you… (Various)

Robert Kirkman explains how the Walking Dead is going to come to TV. (Splash Page)

George Romero himself is tackling a zombie novel called The Living Dead which will explain a huge amount of backstory to his mythos, including the full capabilities of the zombie. (The Guardian)

Halloween in New York should be fun, what with the Plants vs. Zombies themed troupe marching in this year’s Village Halloween Parade. In NYC and like dressing as a zombie? Or a plant? You should join them. I would if I could. (Kotaku)

So that Resident Evil 5 director’s cut is apparently actually an “alternative edition” with PS3 wand control and some new stuff. Anyway, clip after the break. Kotaku also has some pics of some groovy action figures of the main characters that nerdy collectors will cream over, no doubt. (Kotaku)

Quiet Earth scored a trailer for The Revenant, a buddy pic with a zombie/vampire hybrid type thing called, not too surprisingly, a revenant. Looks pretty cool. And its trailer is embedded for you after the break. (Quiet Earth)

Online video network Crackle is launching a zombie web series with Jon Heder (you might know him as Napoleon Dynamite) called Woke Up Dead. There’s a preview after the break. (Dread Central)

Atlanta people, you can zombie walk Sunday, October 4.

Since one of the movies in our “what upcoming movie are you looking forward to?” poll — Zombieland — opens in about eight hours (less some places!) it’s time for a new poll. If you haven’t been keeping track, the clear winner is Zombieland, with sixty of 106 votes — well over half. The next closest was Resident Evil: Afterlife with sixteen votes, then George Romero’s next, Survival of the Dead with thirteen. REC 2 made a respectable showing early on, but faltered later, ending up with a decent but unremarkable ten votes. Zombies of Mass Destruction … well, you’re an indie, so be glad you nabbed a couple votes. And I am dying to know what “Something else” was but no one left comments.

As a followup, tell us what zombie videogame you are looking forward to the most. You can find the poll after the break and more information about each of these games all over the Internets — including this site for a few of them. Can’t wait to see what’s got you excited. The poll will remain open for at least two weeks, so send your friends to stuff the ballot box for your favorite. And if you vote “Something else,” please leave a comment saying what that something might be. It’s more fun for everyone if you do.
