Good news for those of us (myself included) looking forward to the TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s Walking Dead series! Word is that AMC has ordered six episodes of the forthcoming series, sight unseen! Also, the current frontrunner for the role of Rick Grimes is said to be Hackers star Johnny Lee Miller. (Bloody Disgusting)
In more Walking Dead news, KNB Effects Group will be handling the zombie effects and makeup for the series. (Shock Till You Drop)
In other made-for-TV zombie news, there’s an anime series called High School of the Dead coming in 2010. High-school students vs. zombie, with lots of panty-shots and attention to boobs. Could be fun. Shaky-cam trailer embedded below. (Anime Vice)
New Left 4 Dead 2 DLC news update! It will not be available this month. The new date is “Spring” but the cost was announced: 560 MS points (or $7 in US currency). In addition to the sweet scenario featuring the surviving original L4D characters, you will also get a golf club melee weapon, a heavy-duty machine gun (not reloadable, kind of like the grenade launcher) and a bride variant of the Witch. Plus the previously announced stuff (new common-uncommon, new modes/modes, etc.). A little pricey, but not to bad. (Kotaku)
The Pride and Prejudice and Zombies madness simply will not stop. Now there’s going to be a videogame version, for the iPhone/iPod touch. It appears to be a side-scrolling brawler. (Kotaku)
I’ve mentioned the post-apocalyptic Western zombie movie Devil’s Crossing once or twice. Well, there’s a teaser trailer (embedded below) and a bit more available. (28 Days Later: An Analysis)
