Executive producer Gale Ann Hurd talks The Walking Dead (TV). (AMCTV)

And lead actor Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes in the series) talks Walking Dead (TV), offering some insight into his character and a word about the zombies. There’s some other stuff from the crew, too. (IGN TV)

Director Johan Renck (Breaking Bad, Downloading Nancy) will direct episode four of The Walking Dead (TV) for AMC. Or skip that and read who the writers and directors for all six initial Walking Dead (TV) episodes are! (Bloody Disgusting)

Or look at a scan from Entertainment Weekly that shows a Walking Dead (TV) pic featuring a zombie that looks a lot like a musician I know named Layden Bryant. (EW via Bloody Disgusting)

Need more? Michael Rooker touches on his Walking Dead role in a Q&A session! (Dread Central)

The awesome Plants vs. Zombies is coming to Xbox Live arcade for $15, with achievements, 21 new minigames, new co-op and Vs. modes and lots more. Get it in early September. (Gamespot)

If you’re excited for the vampire/zombie/magical amulet fest that is The Dead Matter, these final DVD details should be welcome news to you. (Fangoria)

Enjoy an interview with Judy O’Dea of How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Lots of background on how she came to be part of the show and practical zombie-killing advice. (Southern Fried Gamer)

What could be worse than a virus that makes people go all crazed, mindless and murdery? How about one intelligent virus victim organizing the others? That’s what you get in The Rage Plague, a new film from Mudd Miller Productions in the early production stages. (28 Days Later Analysis)

Get your learn on with The Living and the Undead by Gregory A. Waller, a book about the origins and history of zombie/vampire mythology. (Buy Zombie)

Zombie jerky comes to America. Yay? (Kotaku)

Among this week’s DVD releases you will find The Dead are Alive, a 1972 zombie movie (maybe?) about an archaeological dig that uncovers some not-so-dead dead people. Anyone know anything about this? Is it actually a zombie movie and, if so, why have I never heard of it? (Horror Squad)

Chicago gets a zombie disco party Saturday, July 24. (Buy Zombie)

Like planning ahead? Well, zombies in Saugerties, New York will be zombie crawling October 16. There are plans for a videographer to document it, prizes for the best dead celebrity look-a-like, the best executed zombie and best pin-up zombie, and lots of boozing. Mmm, booze.

But wait, there’s more! There was a LOT of news Friday through Monday, so I will put up a special supplementary edition with the rest when I get home tonight … real life is always getting in the way of my zombie blogging! Check back late tonight/early tomorrow for a few more choice items.

It wasn’t really a zombie movie, sad to say. More like a dull giallo.

I blind-bought an R2 version a while back, and it was a big ol’ letdown. Glad I could save someone from the same fate. :)
