First off, I want to give a warm welcome to all the new readers that found us through twitter since “zombie apocalypse” started trending. I’m glad twitter trends finally proved useful. You’ll love it here, we promise.
Second, I just want to direct your attention to Cory’s post regarding the Fourth Annual Zombie Movie Marathon Month which takes place in June, just two short weeks away. We’re pulling out all the stops and it’s going to be awesome.
Now on with the news…
Cannes has been giving zombies a lot of love this past week, and another movie we’re excited about is Infected. While the title seems as generic as possible, the premise is actually pretty cool. It’s about zombies (and Michael Madsen) but they’re not undead. They’re aware of what they’re doing, they just can’t control it. I’m keeping an eye out for this one. (Dread Central)
After the break, check out yet another Cannes hit in the short film series, a fun little zombie themed claymation movie. (Kotaku)
We’ve got a few more production updates and some rather peaceful images from the upcoming movie REC 3: Genesis. (Bloody Disgusting)
While the title is too long and upsets me (it has nothing to do with Romero or Princesses), I’m still obliged to share the first official trailer (after the break) for World of the Dead: The Zombie Diaries 2. (Dread Central)
Jon Bernthal (Shane) from The Walking Dead chimes in with a few quotes regarding the new season coming later this year. There’s some major spoilers if you haven’t read the comics yet. Also if you haven’t read the first six issues of The Walking Dead comic book series, go buy the first trade after you finish reading today’s post. (Fangoria)
Cory sent me a link to an article from The A.V. Club (which is his awesome day job btw) which contains a good review and summary for Wild Zero, a rock and roll horror movie featuring the Japanese band Guitar Wolf. It’s a good read so check it out. (The A.V. Club)
I liked the trailer for The Infected. The hashtag #zombieapocalypse is trending on Twitter and I just found this vehicle, which will help with the undead:

It is only 300K! I still want one:)

Infected may be ok. I really tire of these zombie movies taking place out in the boonies. Even that Zombie Diaries 2 had a line like “we’ll stick to the country path”. It screams “no budget”.
And yes, I know that two of my episodes take place in the boonies…. but 4 don’t ;)
