Fashion Zombie: Nazi zombies must die!

Posted by Cory Casciato On June - 21 - 2010

Some things are so self-evident they go without saying. But sometimes it’s fun to say those things anyway. And this shirt shouts one of those things loud and clear! Nazi zombies must die. I mean, they’re not only Nazis, they’re zombies and somehow the combination is worse.

You can own this proclamation of common sense for $21.55 (usually $24, on sale at the moment!). Yeah, it’s a little steep as far as shirts go, but they are American Apparel shirts (I like my AA shirts, personally) with a lot of colors printed on, so… There are also a lot of options as far as where you want it printed and what kind of shirt, which is kind of nice if you only like V-necks or something.

Fashion Zombie: Support the Raccoon City police department

Posted by Cory Casciato On June - 14 - 2010

In the real world, the police have a hard job. In a world with zombies … well, police have the hardest job. Think about it: the police are almost invariably the front line against the walking dead. By the time they call the army out, it’s usually too late (i.e. time to cut and run for an easily fortified mall) but the cops? They’re there when the first shambling biter wanders out of the morgue, and they don’t know it’s a zombie until it’s too late. Yikes. That’s why it’s important to show our support to the men and women in blue who work in the world’s zombie-infested cities. Thus, today I bring you this fabulous Raccoon City Police Department T-shirt.

Like our last Raccoon City shirt, this one can easily fly under the radar if you feel the need to wear some zombie gear to a meet-up with the girlfriend’s parents (for instance). They’ll just think you’re showing support for a small-town police department, civil-minded youngster that you are. But to your fellow zombie fans, you might as well be wearing a neon sign. You can own this shirt for $19, and they appear to be selling out fast. Complete your Raccoon City fashion collection today!

Fashion Zombie: Monroeville Zombies

Posted by Cory Casciato On June - 7 - 2010

You don’t have to be a big fan of Kevin Smith’s work to appreciate this week’s Fashion Zombie. Hell, you don’t even have to know who the guy is, despite the fact this week’s shirt originated in his film Zack & Miri Make a Porno (anyone out there actually seen that? I gave up on his career after the abysmal Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back). Why is that? Because every zombie fan worth a damn knows all about the Monroeville Mall’s importance in zombie history. And it doesn’ t hurt that I really like the shirt design itself. Subtle, yet clearly zombietastic.

You can own this shirt for $18, which is a little steep in my opinion. Still, it is a Monroeville Zombies shirt … You can also get it in hoodie, hockey jersey and/or bumper sticker form if you poke around Smith’s merch site.

Fashion Zombie: iZombie

Posted by Cory Casciato On May - 31 - 2010

Ever feel like a friend or a loved one is a mindless slave to Apple, joining their undead army for a march on open computing standards and a free, boundaryless Internet? Or maybe that’s you? Well, here’s your shirt! Anti-Apple sentiment aside, it’s also a decent riff on a ubiquitous advertising campaign and it has a zombie carrying his own head, something we can all appreciate.

If you want it, you’ll have to act fast: it is one of Teefury‘s shirts-of-the-day and today is that day. Your options are few: Colorwise, ladies get the red one, gents get the green. At time of posting you have just about seven and a half hours to pull the trigger. It’s only $9 and I have been very happy with all my Teefury shirts quality-wise, if that helps at all.  Me, I’m kind of on the fence, myself. I don’t love the color and while the design is cool, it doesn’t blow me away. What do you all think? Should I buy one?

Fashion Zombie: The Horde!

Posted by Cory Casciato On May - 25 - 2010

This week’s shirt is my current personal favorite. It’s called The Horde and it illustrates a classic and tragic situation in zombie lore. One man, alone against the undead masses with just a shotgun and chainsaw. It will end badly for him, but damn it, he isn’t going down without a fight. The shirt works really well because it’s subtle — you can look right at it and not quite realize what you’re looking at it until a few minutes later BAM! Your brain puts it all together and you say, “Wow, awesome!” This actually happened to me the other day, while wearing the shirt and talking to a friend: he literally stopped and complimented the shirt once he realized what he was looking at.

You can own it yourself by paying Threadless $18. As I mentioned, I personally own this one and can vouch for its comfort, durability and stylishness. Fits a little tighter around the neck than most of my shirts, but not in an uncomfortable way. If that price is a little steep for you, Threadless regularly runs $9 specials, too. And if you’d like to see it in action, click through the “Read More” link to see it on Threadless user Zombilina, who is herself wielding a chainsaw.

Fashion Zombie: Raccoon City’s nice this time of year

Posted by Cory Casciato On May - 17 - 2010

Sometimes, you want a zombie shirt that drips gore and shouts horror. Other times, you want a zombie shirt with a touch more subtlety, and for those times, you could do a lot worse than this week’s Fashion Zombie entry, “Raccoon City Welcomes You.” On the off chance you aren’t familiar with Raccoon City, it’s the fictional locale that features heavily in the Resident Evil series and a place that frequently suffers zombie outbreaks. The shirt only hints at this, meaning you can go out in public, perhaps with a zombie-hating spouse or family member, without attracting undue attention from the mundanes. At the same time, you can be sure any true zombie aficionado will recognize you as one of their own. That’s a win-win.

You can pick this shirt up from animescreendotcom’s Etsy shop for the eminently reasonable price of $15.95. Word is, each one is made to order and the seller guarantees satisfaction nine ways from Sunday.

Fashion Zombie: Fulci’s in fashion

Posted by Cory Casciato On May - 10 - 2010

Sometimes, you just need to tell the world, “Lucio Fulci’s Zombie is an awesome fucking movie and I love it.” This shirt will do that. It’s one of Rotten Cotton‘s many movie-themed offerings that repurposes a film’s original promo art work into a spiffy T-shirt. I don’t own any Rotten Cotton, so I can’t speak to the quality, but most of its shirts, this one included, run a reasonable $15. That seems a decent price for a chance to shout your love of classic zombie film to the world.

Fashion Zombie: Zombie vodka

Posted by Cory Casciato On May - 3 - 2010

Two of my favorite things, zombies and vodka, together at last. I couldn’t be happier (unless the person who made this wanted to give me one, anyway). It’s also got a little of that repurposed Soviet flair for extra flavor, which is nice. It’s yet another excellent Etsy find, this time from Sigh Co. Graphics in New Orleans. You can buy the shirt here for a relatively reasonable $18, and check out their other horror-themed fashion in their store.

It’s a babydoll T, which means it would look pretty fruity on me, but would suit the ladies just fine. If only my lady were zombie inclined. Ah well, perhaps they’ll do a printing on a more manly cut (I could use a V-neck zombie shirt for variety’s sake and hipster cred…) at some future date. Until then, I can admire from afar. And you can admire it on a lovely female model in a photo below the break.

Fashion Zombie: Narwhal vs. zombie

Posted by Cory Casciato On April - 26 - 2010

Zombies. They love to fight stuff. And Etsy designer Tina Seamonster loves to make shirts documenting that. You may recall she was the one behind the awesome “Obama punching a zombie” shirt that was the first-ever Fashion Zombie entry. Now she’s combined two of the Internet’s favorite things — narwhals and zombies — into one awesome shirt-based deathmatch, illustrated by Chuck Knigge. As the woman herself says, “I am pretty sure that the elusive narwhal can totally take a zombie. Given the right conditions, like in the water, of course.” Can’t argue with that.

You can get one of these shirts, in green (pictured) or pink, for $20 from her shop. She makes them in small batches, so they may sell out and/or not be available in your size. Just keep checking back, she makes more from time to time. To see the design on a model, click through the “Read the rest of this entry” link below.

Fashion Zombie: Zombie vs vampire

Posted by Cory Casciato On April - 19 - 2010

A tale as old as time, a song as old as rhyme: No, not beauty and the beast, but zombie vs. vampire. And if there’s any doubt as to who wins this particular match up, you are looking at the wrong website, mister (or ma’am — either gender could be equally wrong on this topic). Now you can get the fateful zombie vs. vampire death match in stylish, colorful T-shirt form from Zombie Liquorice.

Zombie Liquorice has quite a few wonderfully gruesome designs, but this one is my favorite. Like most of their shirts, it runs $20 (you can order it here) and comes on an American Apparel tee. I don’t actually own this (as much as I love it, I’m poor and $20 is a lot for a shirt) so I can’t vouch for the quality of printing. I will say that all the AA shirts I own from any company are great, so the fact that they use those is a point in their favor. Below, you’ll find a picture of the shirt itself, if you want a better overall view of the design and an idea of how it works on the shirt.
