Frank Darabont ruffled quite a few feathers last night when he reportedly fired all of the principal writers, including his second in command, on The Walking Dead. Season 2 is still confirmed, but this will obviously complicate, and possibly delay, the second season. (Deadline Hollywood)

In some better Walking Dead news, horror distribution moguls Anchor Bay have nabbed the DVD/Blu-ray distribution rights for the show’s first season, so more than likely it will be loaded with amazing extras. (Dread Central)

Speaking of The Walking Dead, here’s a few more behind the scenes pictures from the upcoming season finale. (Dread Central)

I have no idea who the Dr. Smith Band is or where they came from, but they’ve made one of the best zombie music videos of all time (video after the break) which is aptly named “Zombie Bitches Kickin Peoples Ass.” (Horror Year Book)

We’ve got some more behind the scenes filming and production news on the upcoming movie Humans vs. Zombies, or HvZ. (Daily Tribune)

If you love American history, and the undead, then you’ll love Exit Humanity, a new zombie movie in post production that takes place during the American Civil War. Follow the link for some set pictures. (Quiet Earth)

There’s a cool little history of zombie culture in America and it’s beginnings from Voodoo lore that’s definitely worth reading. (io9)

This isn’t really news by any means, but because it’s awesome, I’ve got video of the custom made Left 4 Dead (PC) map that completely re-creates Helm’s Deep from Lord of the Rings. I hate LotR, but I love zombies, so it’s a wash. (Kotaku)

There’s a pretty awesome interview with Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, the lovable zombie-killing scamp on The Walking Dead. (Buy Zombie)

Walking Dead composer Bear McCreary once again talks at length about the amazing and horror filled tones he chose to create for the show. (Fangoria)

You thought we forgot, didn’t you? Well don’t worry because here’s the sneak peek (after the break) of The Walking Dead episode four you’ve been waiting for all week. (FEARnet)

And in the saddest of all possible news, this week’s Inevitable Zombie Podcast was lost in a terrible computer-related incident that induced much swearing. Look for a special, super-sized podcast to return next week. Or look for a lot more swearing if it happens again.
