There are not one, not two but three Walking Dead clips to watch today! One is about the transition from comic to TV show, one is about the story and underlying plot of the series and one is all about Rick Grimes. You can find all three embedded below. (AMCTV)

In honor of Dead Rising 2 coming out, here’s a history of zombies in videogames. It’s not comprehensive, but it’s a decent overview. (GamePro)

A zombie-themed 5k cancer benefit run? Damn, that’s almost enough reason to make me run! Or go to Utah! (In This Week)

Undead Diversion: Kids in the Hall on zombies

Posted by Cory Casciato On October - 1 - 20101 COMMENT

Today, our Undead Diversion is a short sketch from Canada’s all-time funniest comedy troupe. In just over two minutes, the Kids in the Hall manage to capture the essential essence of the zombie movie — the running, the inevitable standoff and the ambiguous ending that constitute the raw material of half the zombie movies ever made, boiled down to one short skit. Plus, there is a great recurring shoe gag in it. Enjoy, and happy Friday.

You going to be in New York October 8-10? Well, rest assured that the New York Comic Con will have zombie panels aplenty, including panels on surviving the inevitable zombie apocalypse, discussion of zombie theory, a behind-the scenes look at Ugly Americans and a Walking Dead panel with a bunch of the creative types and cast. (Dread Central)

Here in Denver we get a stage production of Night of the Living Dead every year that blends film, theater, farce and zombies (plus a dance number) into one great homage to the classic. I’ve seen it and it is quite enjoyable. (Westword – Show & Tell)

Want a sweet Half Life headcrab zombie sculpture for your home or office? Preorders are happening now… (Kotaku)

There’s a bad-ass new cinematic trailer for the new Left 4 Dead/L4D2 DLC “The Sacrifice.” Can’t embed the fucking thing, unfortunately. Click that link back there. (Kotaku)

Just below the break, you can find a sweet trailer for Red Dead Redemption‘s “Undead Nightmare” DLC. Cowboys and zombies FTW!

A couple of “behind-the-scenes” (and I use that term loosely) videos about Barry Levinson’s zombie-making sea-critter movie The Bay (aka Isopod) have found their way to the Internetz. None of it’s too exciting … some stills of where it is shooting (South Carolina) with music playing in one, some hicks talking about it filming in the other. There’s also some casting info. (Dread Central)

Gamers, rejoice! Zombie shooting co-op modes are officially confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops. (Kotaku)

The fancy-pants new Nintendo 3DS will get Resident Evil: Mercenaries, a game that takes several bonus modes from RE 4 & 5, turns them all 3Dified and spins them off into a standalone game. (Kotaku)

Cowboys and zombies, ho! Get a look at the first promo images for the Red Dead Redemption “Undead Nightmare” DLC. (Kotaku)

Chicago will party it up zombie-apocalypse style October 1 at Drop Dead Sexy Celebrity Zombie Party. Dress as your favorite undead celeb, party it up, help out the people behind Musical of the Living Dead. Sounds like a win/win/win situation. (Buy Zombie)

Aliens turn people into zombies and only a few lucky, immune souls remain behind to fight them in Day 2, a super-cheesy looking new film. You can watch the trailer via embed below. (Quiet Earth)

Fashion Zombie: See you in the next life!

Posted by Cory Casciato On September - 27 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Let’s face it, when it comes to zombies, many of us have wondered how the other half lives. Sure, it’s noble to ask your buddy to put one in your head so you don’t come back, but deep down we all kinda hope he’ll miss and we’ll get a chance to wander around all dead-eyed and hungry. And that makes today’s shirt a must-have for any zombie fan who’s honest with themselves about this unspoken desire.

Also, you can get it cheap, thanks to Crazy Dog T-shirt’s discount offer to you, the good people who read this site!

Undead Diversion: Behind the scenes of The Walking Dead

Posted by Cory Casciato On September - 24 - 20104 COMMENTS

This would usually qualify as news, and make no mistake, it is news. But I’m posting it as an Undead Diversion for two reasons — first, there was no fucking way I could wait until the end of the day to share it with you. Second, it deserves its own post, because it is that fucking awesome.  AMC has released this five-minute behind the scenes video on The Walking Dead and it shows a lot more footage than we’ve seen before. Also, did I mention it was awesome? You’ll see some seriously gory shit, for one thing. And some nice character moments. Anyway, enough yapping, click play and enjoy.

I’m not 100 percent sure where the hell Big Shiny Robot found this, because I couldn’t find it anywhere but their site/YouTube page, but nice fucking job for finding it!

Reports of games of Humans vs Zombies on college campuses are so common they’re not really news, so this report is officially the last Humans vs Zombies news story I will post (unless someone dies during one or something). (The Rotunda)
