Here’s a nice in depth write up of the indie zombie bromantic comedy DeadHeads which hits DVD February 22. (Canberra Times)

Bill Hinzman, the first zombie to appear in the Romero classic Night of the Living Dead, passed away this past week at the age of 76. I mean this in the most respectful way that I hope he rises from the grave to come and get us all. (We Are Movie Geeks)

Every now and then a trailer comes along that makes us here at the IZA remember why we love zombie movies. Osombie is a movie about the re-animated corpse of Osama Bin Laden and the mission wherein a group of military operatives go to kill him, again. Check it out after the break and get ready for what will be an amazing ride. (First Showing)

It looks like the fine folks over at Machinima have teamed up with Lionsgate and FEARnet to bring season two of Bite Me, the zombie webseries, back to life. (c21 media)

It looks like Tom Savini is really pushing to play the coveted role of The Governor when the role inevitably emerges on The Walking Dead, but he might have some stiff competition ahead of him. Personally I’m hoping he gets the role. (MTV)

It’s just been confirmed that Johann Urb will play Leon Kennedy in the new Resident Evil movie. I have no idea who he is, and I’ve never seen a movie he’s been in, but I guess he looks like Leon Kennedy. (Kotaku)

October 8 is World Zombie Day so make sure to see if there’s any good zombie happenings in your hometown. (Examiner)

For those that live in The Walking Dead country (I.E. Atlanta, Georgia) the Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse is back for year two boasting a 100,000 square foot zombie playground. (Dread Central)

It looks like Blake Lively has passed on playing the lead role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I mean seriously, why did she pass? Her last movie was Green Lantern. I know I was bashing on her getting the offer, but really? REALLY? (Filmonic)

Fed-Ex recently did a pretty awesome commercial about the zombie apocalypse. You can check it out after the break, and also check out the cool behind the scenes video that goes with it. (Dread Central)

I figured they’d release them slowly, but apparently all of the new The Walking Dead webisodes are online and available to view. Check them out after the break. While you’re at it, check out these photos from episode one of the new season as well. (Dread Central)

While we can’t embed the trailer (thanks Kotaku) we can tell you that the new trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS appeals to the 13 year old boy in all of us. It features a new female character who’s got a bigger middle cleavage area than Power Girl. (Kotaku)

Cory sent this to me today and I had to share it with you all. If you’ve got a small child then you don’t have to worry about their safety in the zombie apocalypse, provided you read them a copy of the new soon to be best selling children’s book That’s Not Your Mommy Anymore. (io9)

Well I’m back from vacation and well rested so naturally I want to talk about undead fiends and the San Diego Comic Con which contained them. Bear with me because I’m going to try and catch up on all the key news from last week. So let’s get to it!

Let’s start off by diving into the MASSIVE pile of The Walking Dead news from Comic Con.

Carlos Gallardo, the producer of El Mariachi, and Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, have paired up to bring us Zombie Apocalypse, a working title comic book and potential screen play that looks pretty slick. (What Culture)

Speaking of comic books, it looks like the popular build a weapon zombie killing franchise Dead Rising is set to receive the comic treatment courtesy of IDW. (Gamepro)

Last Blood, the graphic novel about the war between zombies and vampires for control of the last of the human population in the post apocalyptic wastelands, is set to receive the film treatment with none other than Simon Hunter, director of The Mutant Chronicles at it’s helm. (The Film Stage)

In sadder news, Ruben Fleisher, director of last years fan favorite Zombieland, gave the bad news that Zombieland 2 is most likely a no-go due to scheduling conflicts and an unfinished script. (I Am Rogue)

The judge in the Jenna Jameson lawsuit recalled his victory ruling against her after she was a no-show in court and now it looks like a settlement may be in the cards. Who would have thought we’d have this much legal drama over Zombie Strippers? (Woodridge Patch)

Another nice little surprise at Comic Con was the trailer for the short film Stitched, about a group of soldiers who combat a deadly undead enemy in the Middle East, and written by none other than comic book legend Garth Ennis. Check it out after the break. (io9)

After the break, check out the game play trailer for Zombie Gunship, the iOS game where you command a flying assault plane trying to mow down the horde of undead scum who are aiming to take down a group of human survivors. It actually looks really good. (148apps.com)

Undead Labs spoke up and gave some more information about their upcoming zombie MMO Xbox Live exclusive games Class3 and Class4. (Gamasutra)

Issac Marion, the writer of Warm Bodies, the zombie romance that hopefully won’t be another Twilight, recently gave an interview about the film and the book. (USA Today)

Regular commenter and webseries creator Jon Dixon sent me an e-mail with a really cool zombie commercial for the new Toshiba laptops. Check it out after the break.

We’ve got some nice behind the scenes pictures for two upcoming movies. The first is Frost Bite which takes place in a grocery store after the zombie apocalypse and the second is the biological outbreak based VS. The Dead. (Fangoria)

Brett Pierce, the co-director of the zombie comedy Deadheads, sat down for an awesome Q&A about the making of the film. (Blood Sprayer)

In this awesome video after the break, two amateur backyard scientists test our favorite movie weapons to determine Will It Kill A Zombie. As they couldn’t find an actual zombie at the time of filming, they instead chose to use a coconut. (Buy Zombie)

I’ve seen a lot of strange trailers since I started working here, and every now and again it’s nice to come across one that makes good use of cheap HD cameras and video editing software. Nazi Werewolf Zombie Inferno (I shit you not) looks promising, and the makers of the film are using the trailer in an attempt to stir up some production capital. Let’s hope they succeed. Check out the trailer after the break. (Buy Zombie)
