Don’t read it unless you’ve already seen Zombieland (we’re talking major spoilers here, folks), but io9 has an interesting piece on celebrity cameos that didn’t make the cut and some background on the brilliant one that did. (io9)

Sorry about the delay in getting this posted — technical difficulties intruded. Mainly, that I am technically a dumbass.

On the eve of Zombieland‘s release there is a buttload of press hitting for it. An interview with Emma Stone, and this interview with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrleson, or this interview with director Ruben Flesicher. There’s plenty more out there (I actually misplaced another interview with Fleischer somewhere in my bazillion bookmarks…) go find it if that doesn’t satiate you… (Various)

Robert Kirkman explains how the Walking Dead is going to come to TV. (Splash Page)

George Romero himself is tackling a zombie novel called The Living Dead which will explain a huge amount of backstory to his mythos, including the full capabilities of the zombie. (The Guardian)

Halloween in New York should be fun, what with the Plants vs. Zombies themed troupe marching in this year’s Village Halloween Parade. In NYC and like dressing as a zombie? Or a plant? You should join them. I would if I could. (Kotaku)

So that Resident Evil 5 director’s cut is apparently actually an “alternative edition” with PS3 wand control and some new stuff. Anyway, clip after the break. Kotaku also has some pics of some groovy action figures of the main characters that nerdy collectors will cream over, no doubt. (Kotaku)

Quiet Earth scored a trailer for The Revenant, a buddy pic with a zombie/vampire hybrid type thing called, not too surprisingly, a revenant. Looks pretty cool. And its trailer is embedded for you after the break. (Quiet Earth)

Online video network Crackle is launching a zombie web series with Jon Heder (you might know him as Napoleon Dynamite) called Woke Up Dead. There’s a preview after the break. (Dread Central)

Atlanta people, you can zombie walk Sunday, October 4.

There’s a spoiler-laden interview with REC/REC 2 co-creators Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza at Bloody Disgusting. The spoilers are well-labeled, so you can read the non-spoiler bits safely. They also have an awesomely gory new still image. (Bloody Disgusting)

Get on the red carpet for Zombieland. (Fangoria)

Some intriguing news from George Romero — if Survival of the Dead does well, he’d like to do at least two more Dead stories based on characters first introduced in Diary — and introduce some “new rules” to his mythos. (Dread Central)

Have a look at the first test image for Night of the Living Dead: Origins, the forthcoming NotLD 3D CGI prequel. I did — it looks okay. (Dread Central)

The teaser trailer for the upcoming Plan 9 from Outer Space remake, to be called simply Plan 9,  is out and, wonder of wonders, it looks good. Hell, it looks great. If they can make a movie that lives up to the trailer (it doesn’t start shooting until next year, the trailer was just shot to mark the 50th anniversary of the original) this could be an amazing film. Trailer embedded after the break, and visit the Plan 9 site for more info.

Those clever bastards over at Bloody Disgusting somehow scored an exclusive on the second “Sarge Speaks” viral video for George A. Romero’s upcoming Survival of the Dead. Luckily, they are nice and it’s embeddable, thus it is embedded for you after the break. (Bloody Disgusting)

Fans of Max Brooks brilliant zombie series get the next installment on October 6, when The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks, a graphic novel entry in the series, is released. Damn cool. And there’s a trailer, embedded after the break.

One of Left 4 Dead 2‘s writers answers Kotaku‘s “Justify Your Game” challenge, where they task developers to justify a game’s existence in thirty seconds or less. And you can watch it, along with all that other great video (come on kids, say it with me), after the break. (Kotaku)

Just days after they blogged about the teaser trailer, Quiet Earth has the entirety of Spanish zombies-in-a-mall short Zombies and Cigarettes for you to watch. And thanks to the magic of embedding, so do I — find it after the break. (Quiet Earth)
