Sources are reporting that Hurt Locker and the upcoming Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter star Anthony Mackie is next on the list to play a lead role in World War Z. (Collider)

After almost getting one film aficionado arrested in Australia, banned Bruce LaBruce zombie film LA Zombie has been officially cleared for public screening at the Out Takes film festival but The Society for Promotion of Community Standards has filed for an appeal. When will we live in a world where it’s okay to show a gay zombie porno in public? (New Zealand Herald)

After losing Ryan Reynolds and Zach Galifianakis, it looks like they’re turning to Jeff “The Dude” Bridges to play a main role in the upcoming movie R.I.P.D. about zombie cops. (Bloody Disgusting)

Okay, this is a total puff piece from AMC where they show forum reader speculation about the CDC from The Walking Dead. However, the fact they’ve made it an article might be a teaser that they’ll play a bigger, non comic related part in season two. (AMC)

After a few fake mock ups showed up last month, we’ve finally got the official teaser one sheet poster for REC 3: Genesis. (Bloody Disgusting)

I love zombies, but sooner or later you’ve got to stop beating a dead horse. Marvel is going ahead with Marvel Zombies 5 featuring alternate universes, and once again the return of Howard the Duck. (Buy Zombie)

For you comic book fans we’ve got a nice preview from the upcoming title ’68 which combines zombies and the Vietnam War. (USA Today)

I really hope this movie gets made. It’s called COOTIES and it’s about a zombie outbreak at a primary school. That should be enough to get any investor on board. (Ain’t It Cool News)

Alright buckle up because it was a HUGE news weekend for the undead…

When I saw a fake clip for When Harry Met Sally 2 online last Friday, my first thought was “What is this doing on all of the horror news sites?” After I watched it, I realized it was one of the greatest fake trailers I’ve ever seen. Check it out after the break. (Deadline)

There’s some great interviews that came out from the cast of The Walking Dead.

Local campus games of Humans vs Zombies were popular this week as well.

The crew over at Deep Silver just announced a ton of information for their upcoming game Dead Island. There’s pictures, level information, and much, much more. (Dread Central)

If you’re living in some rental flats in Sutton, UK then you’ve got a good chance to be an extra in the upcoming movie Cockneys vs Zombies. (net-lettings.co.uk)

Sad news as another comic book movie looks to be dying prematurely. Zach Galifianakis has dropped out of the Dark Horse adaptation of R.I.P.D. which centers around an undead police department. Ryan Reynolds is still tentatively attached to the project, but recent rumors about a new director for the Deadpool movie and a Green Lantern sequel will undoubtedly pull him off as well. We received word that zombie movie The Dead, after receiving UK distribution and media rights through Anchor Bay, will now receive a US release as well thanks to Global Cinema Distribution. That’s good news indeed.

In a weird twist of fate, famed 1990’s comic book Xombi is returning from the dead soon with a new ongoing series. (io9)

First off, just to remind everyone, The Walking Dead drops today on Blu-Ray and DVD so make sure to buy it and ensure future seasons. Support the show people!

Lights Out actress Meredith Hanger has joined the cast of Awakening. Let’s hope she’s got enough teen angst. (I promise I’ll stop with the Awakening jokes if the show is good.) (Digital Spy)

Dead Island news was heavy today as it was announced the game would have four player co-op, customizable weapons, and around 30 hours of game play. (Nerd Reactor)

There was a lot of good detail today on the upcoming comedy The Kitchen Sink as several script details were released. There’s a lot of spoilers there as well, so read it at your own risk. (News In Film)

Sony Pictures is teaming up with Michael “big explosions equal good film making” Bay to bring the IDW comic book series Zombies vs Robots to the big screen. (Hit Fix)

Cory sent me this link to a trailer for a movie that I think is called I Am Here… Now and it’s about a space robot zombie Jesus that kills people, or something. It’s pretty insane, and not exactly safe for work.
