This piece of custom firepower from the fine folks at DoubleStar weapons is the last thing you’ll ever need in the zombie apocalypse. Check it out in action after the break. (Dvice)

We’ve got a cute trailer for the upcoming book the Girls Guide to Dating Zombies after the break. (Dread Central)

After the break, check out the latest trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and get ready to return to Umbrella circa 1998. (FEARnet)

You should also check out Robert Kirkman talking about The Walking Dead on The View and in an MTV interview after the break as well. Note: The clip from The View is actually the entire episode… You’ve been warned. (Shockya)

If there was ever a kickstarter campaign to fund in an effort to save humanity in the zombie apocalypse, it’s the kickstarter campaign to fund the Global Village Construction Set which contains everything you need to rebuild civilization without turning over power to those that hoarded books before the attacks. (Earth Techling)

Popular zombie manga Rain For the Dead is headed to the big screen. It’s actually a cool premise. In a world overrun with the dead, the only safe time to be outside is during a rainstorm, when your human scent is masked to those that would prefer to eat you. (Comic Book Movie)

Techland, the development team behind the amazingly popular game Dead Island, has filed a trademark for the name Dead World. I think we all know what that means. (PlayStation Universe)

It looks like Lionsgate has bought the rights to make the official Dead Island movie. It was only a matter of time, and at least a studio with a focus on horror is getting their hands in the kitchen. (Stuff)

DoubleBear productions is looking for some community help to finish their game Dead State. This will be an unpaid to very low paid job, but it might be good for building a resume. Proceed with caution though. (IGN)

The news leaked today that Sega filed a trademark for Yakuza: Dead Souls which is rumored to be the US release of their zombie apocalypse game Yakuza: Of The End. (The Sixth Axis)

Here’s a veritable crap ton of cast photos from the upcoming season of The Walking Dead. You now have desktop backgrounds to last you through the rest of the year. (Buy Zombie)

If you follow Milla Jovovich on twitter, you’ve probably already seen the videos she posted of table reads from Resident Evil: Retribution and a clip of her firing some guns. If not, check them out. (Dread Central)

After the break, check out another cool behind the scenes clip from World War Z showing off the panic stricken crowd as it flees the incoming zombie horde. (ShockYa)

It’s cool to see that celebrities aren’t immune to practical jokes. Apparently Matt Damon was so enthusiastic about having zombies in the film Contagion that director Steven Soderberg hired a zombie extra to attack him on set. Let’s hope that clip makes the DVD special features. (New York Post)

While we try to stay out of some topics, we feel obligated to report the news that local Boston clergy was pretty peeved when the crew behind the upcoming film R.I.P.D. decided to film on 9/11 outside the church, which supposedly angered and interrupted remembrance ceremonies in progress. (Herald Sun)

It’s certainly the end times as a virus has been identified in certain caterpillars that cause them to go into a zombie like state, crawling to the top of a tree after eating, to let the sun melt them into goo which then drips down and infects other caterpillars at the base of a tree. I speak for the IZA when I say that’s some creepy shit. (Inquisitr)

As a survival nut, I’m always looking for the next advantage in the zombie apocalypse. I’m pleased to see this dumpster which has been turned into a rather nice home, complete with secure locks, a place to cook, sleep, and go to the bathroom. It even has power and running water. Check out the video after the break and go find an abandoned dumpster to turn into the ultimate portable zombie shelter. (io9)

Producers Glen Mazzara and Gale Anne Hurd, and zombie lord Robert Kirkman sit down to discuss season two of The Walking Dead and answer some important questions. (FEARnet)

Colin Salmon, the guy who got sliced into toothpick appetizers in a laser room in the first Resident Evil movie, is apparently back in the latest film. I have no idea either… (Bloody Disgusting)

Dead Island, like all new games released these days, is already set to make some easy cash with downloadable content that realistically should have been in the game to begin with. That’s not a comment on Dead Island specifically, just new games in general. I hate to rant, but I’m sick of a game which already costs $60 at launch costing me another $30 three months after it’s initial release. Here’s a pro tip kids… Wait a year, just wait a year, you can do it, and then buy the game with all of the DLC for about $40. (Buy Zombie)

Okay, I technically have no idea what this cool zombie twitter video is promoting. I’m assuming it’s for a studio trying to get their name out there. It’s really cool though, and does a good job of pulling a World War Z style (the book) approach to storytelling through social media like Twitter and YouTube.

After the break, check out this cool behind the scenes special effects tutorial for the upcoming film A Little Bit Zombie. (Buy Zombie)

John Malkovich, best known for, well… Being John Malkovich, is the latest actor to throw his hat into the Twilight meets Night of the Living Dead movie Warm Bodies. (Hollywood Reporter)

Dead Island was already off to a rough start before it even shipped. Then it shipped a broken early production copy of the game to Steam users making it even more unpopular. Now it seems that in that broken copy, the main female lead has the ability to do extra damage to male characters in what the game called (but later renamed) “Feminist Whore” mode. Good job guys. Deep Silver has already thrown the blame on a third party developer to try and soften the blow. (Kotaku)

Apparently Polish zombies aren’t too keen on being given the same insults as their living brethren. This trailer for Wataha shows just how angry and deadly they can be. (Dread Central)

So at this past DragonCon they had a big Walking Dead panel, mostly filled with third party cast, and the kid stars. What was interesting is that eight separate times before and during the panel, they made a point to tell the audience that no questions about Frank Darabont would be allowed or answered. It’s strange to see how AMC is handling this through silence. Check out the (long) video after the break and judge for yourself. (io9)

The Walking Dead is still going strong despite some shake ups lately, and cinematographer turned director David Boyd gives a pretty nice interview about working on the show and getting a shot directing. (Dread Central)

Speaking of The Walking Dead, for all you metal lovers out there Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian posted a pic of himself in full blown zombie makeup for his cameo in season two. (FEARnet)

After the break, check out some choice songs from the Dead Island sound track and get your mind right for some proper zombie killing. (Joystiq)

Graig Gillespie recently discussed Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and told us he’s ready to start shooting early 2012. (indieWIRE)

Check out the second trailer for community game turned fright flick Humans vs. Zombies after the break. (Fangoria)

It seems like Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D will be an animated full CGI retelling of the classic Romero story. Check out the trailer after the break, and look forward to the fact that Tony Todd will be lending his voice to the project. (Worst Previews)

Rob Sholty, an indie filmmaker from Las Vegas, dropped us a line to a trailer for his first feature film Patient Zero, which he describes as “The Wrestler meets 28 Days Later“. He’s currently gathering funds through kickstarter if you want to pitch in, and you can check out the trailer after the break. It actually looks pretty damn cool…

Finally we’ve got the news everyone has been waiting for. It seems that Frank Darabont was indeed fired from The Walking Dead, and the rumor mill (which is currently still anonymous sources) says it’s because of his difficulty to work with AMC regarding show notes and budget discussions. (FEARnet)

World War Z caught some bad publicity this week when it was revealed that the movie wouldn’t really follow the spirit of the best selling book. Instead it would be more of an action adventure film centered entirely around Brad Pitt’s character and not multiple stories from the battlefront. (The Celebrity Cafe)

Ving Rhames, who is by far one of the best zombie killers on film, will once again be thrust in the middle of an undead outbreak in the upcoming Asylum production Zombie Apocalypse. (Dread Central)

While it erupted onto the scene with an immediate fan base and a possible movie deal, the actual Dead Island video game has been getting some lackluster early reviews lately. Let’s hope for the best. (Kotaku)

Every now and then people make me realize just how possible it would be to survive a zombie outbreak. One such person posted a detailed write up on how to make your own MRE (Meals, Ready to Eat) packages for less than half the price of those stale military grade goods. (Lifehacker)

We stumbled across this awesome trailer for Zombie 108 and had to share it with you. It’s a Japanese zombie flick that looks like it’s part 28 Days Later, part Battle Royale, and very, very cool. Check it out after the break. (Buy Zombie)

The Film Agency for Wales just gave a hefty donation to help make an upcoming movie about a zombie outbreak during the 2012 Olympic games possible. (Fangoria)

Good news everyone! Principle filming on Resident Evil: Retribution is slated to start in October. The film will move locations from Toronto to Tokyo and Paul Anderson is again writing the script. (Dread Central)

Here’s a pretty cool interview with Walking Dead director Ernest Dickerson, who will once again step behind the camera for two back to back episodes of season two. (Buy Zombie)

Speaking of The Walking Dead, it’s been confirmed that there will be some flashbacks in season two that will allude to what brought Shane and Lori together, and in even bigger news Kirkman is thinking of doing a “Volume 0″ series to tell the tale in comic book form. Awesome! (Daily Blam)

We’ve got even more set pics from the upcoming epic that will be World War Z. Actually this might just be Brad Pitt hanging with some kids, but it still looks cool. (Daily Mail)

After the break, check out this co-op trailer for Dead Island, which unfortunately bears a few similarities to Left 4 Dead, but I guess that’s not a bad thing. (Kotaku)

Even if you already know how pretty it looks, here’s another batch of fresh screen shots for the upcoming game Dead Island. (Cinema Blend)

Also there’s another hands on preview for Dead Island, which does a good job at pointing out some of the shortcomings with the single player experience. (Gamespot)

After the break, check out a nice “best of” video from The Walking Dead Comic Con panel, as well as a good “How to kill a walker” clip. (Dread Central)

Also we’ve got a gameplay trailer for Desert Zombie: Last Stand which is hitting the iOS devices soon. Honestly this game looks pretty slick, and I’d love to see a PS3/Xbox 360 port in the near future. (Buy Zombie)

It looks like Kevin Bacon will be the next actor to grace the cast of R.I.P.D. (Hollywood.com)

Well, it might have taken five years, and the movie was already in production (as you know), but A Little Bit Zombie finally reached its million dollar goal that it needed for production. Congratulations! (Net News Ledger)

Here’s another good hands on preview with some more multiplayer details and storyline development for Dead Island. I can’t wait for the game to come out so I can make “…well the book was better” jokes. (Digital Spy)

After the break, watch this video of Garth Ennis, the comic writer extraordinaire, talk about his latest short film Stitched. (Dread Central)

I guess the only thing you can do to a sad franchise is add boobs. That’s what the House of the Dead series decided to do when they added a LOT of boobs to their new game. (Kotaku)

Top commenter and indie webseries creator Jon Dixon sent us a message to let us know that the latest episode of his series …And Then Everything Changed is now online. Check it out after the break.
