Indie game crew Ballardia just delivered the first screen shots and details on their upcoming free to play browser based zombie MMO World of the Living Dead. It’s more simulation than decapitation, but it still looks cool.  (Gamers Hell)

UPDATE: It looks like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies isn’t completely buried, as reported yesterday. Two new directors have put their names in the hat to run the project. (LA Times)

So, Dead Rising 2 is out now! And here’s the second part of the an interview with Dead Rising 2 producer Josh Bridge. (Fangoria)

A couple of “behind-the-scenes” (and I use that term loosely) videos about Barry Levinson’s zombie-making sea-critter movie The Bay (aka Isopod) have found their way to the Internetz. None of it’s too exciting … some stills of where it is shooting (South Carolina) with music playing in one, some hicks talking about it filming in the other. There’s also some casting info. Gamers, rejoice! Zombie shooting co-op modes are officially confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops. (Kotaku)

The fancy-pants new Nintendo 3DS will get Resident Evil: Mercenaries, a game that takes several bonus modes from RE 4 & 5, turns them all 3Dified and spins them off into a standalone game. (Kotaku)

The first full scenes from The Walking Dead will debut October 10 at the New York Comic Con, during a ninety-minute panel with most of the cast and creative talent (including Robert Kirkman, Frank Darabont and Gale Ann Hurd!). I wish I could go… (AMCTV)

And if you need another tidbit, there are five new Walking Dead posters from the international ad campaign. Also, apparently it will air on something called Fox International Channels outside the US. Weird! (28 Days Later Analysis)

Capcom did a Dead Rising 2 zombie walk promotion in London. There are photos to prove it. (Kotaku)

The official one-sheet for AMC’s TV adaptation of The Walking Dead has arrived. To no one’s surprise, it’s fucking awesome. (Dread Central)

Looks like Dead Rising star Frank West will be in Dead Rising 2 — as DLC. It’ll be called Dead Rising 2: Case West. (FEARnet)

Some guy named Andy Fickman is directing an in-development movie called Boy Scouts vs. Zombies. His previous work includes Race to Witch Mountain and apparently he’s working on a remake of I Walked with a Zombie. I don’t know how to feel about this. (Bloody Disgusting)

In other WTF? news, MTV is developing a mockumentary style comedy/horror show called Death Valley, about cops who fight off zombies, vampires and other monsters. Is there any chance this could be good? (Dread Central)

London’s GoreZone Film Festival, on October 2 and 3, will have two zombie movies (Prometheus Rising and The Devil’s Playground) among its thirteen features. (Dread Central)

Possible good news for fans of Dead Rising‘s original hero — the OG zombie killer Frank West may be appearing as a playable character in Dead Rising 2! (Kotaku)

There’s a little online anime video that exists to promote Dead Rising 2! It’s called Samurai Dead Rising, and there are zombies and samurai. It is embedded below for your viewing pleasure. (Kotaku)

The mainstream media is getting hyped over The Walking Dead (TV), apparently, as it has prompted another flood of “Hey, zombies are popular!” articles that reference it. (Reuters)

Chicago gets a zombie fest to benefit wounded soldiers this September 25. Bands, makeup contest and more! (Buy Zombie)

In a dangerous yet fairly awesome publicity stunt, the mad scientists over at Harcos Labs (maker of Zombie Blood energy potion) filled an intersection with folks in zombie makeup, then deliberately ran a red light to get a one-of-a-kind photo from the red-light camera.

If killing zombies with your guitar controller in Rock of the Dead isn’t abstract enough, how about using your drum controller to kill zombies in the upcoming Drumskulls? There’s some video of the game being demoed embedded below for you. (Kotaku)
