Overkill Entertainment is planning the Ohio Zombie Apocalypse in which you will be able to participate in a staged zombie outbreak similar to the successful event held in Atlanta last year. No word on dates yet, but they’re currently accepting staff applications. (We Zombie)

Dan Drezner wrote a book called Theories of International Politics and Zombies based off of his foreign policy paper. If you’re a fan of politics it’s a really good read and makes some good points in the style of Colbert or Stewart. (Examiner)

Remember that nurse/gang leader from The Walking Dead who has done a LOT of television in his career? Well he talked about being on the show on a podcast recently. (Movie Viral)

Plants vs Zombies is officially coming out for the PS3 with a scheduled release of February 3. (Buy Zombie)

Just a reminder that Friday, February 4 is “tweet like a zombie day” in honor of the birthday of one mister George Romero. (FEARnet)

The 17th Annual Victoria Film Festival is doing a salute to zombies. The festival will take place February 4 through 13 in Victoria, BC. (Times Colonist)

Danvers High School put on a theater performance of Night of the Living Dead this past weekend and director Kyla Fallon sat down for an interview regarding the play. (Wicked Local)

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies finally lands a director in School of Rock scribe Mike White. (FEARnet)

Box office poison Megan Fox is considering a role in which she’d play a heartbroken zombie searching for her lover. I can’t say this enough people, AIM FOR THE HEAD! (Showbiz Spy)

Think you’ve got what it takes to survive? Test your zombie fighting know-how on your iPhone with The Zombie Survival Guide, available for $1.99 USD in the apple store. (prMac)

The third Resident Evil: Afterlife clip, Alice lands a plane, the hard way. See it embedded below. (28 Days Later Analysis)

The fourth Resident Evil: Afterlife clip shows a thing with a big ax chasing Ali Larter (aka Claire Redfield) to some quasi-heavy metal music. Naturally, you can also find it below. (Bloody Disgusting)

The previously untitled Double Bear-produced zombie survival RPG has a name: Dead State and you can read a lot about what’s in store. It sounds awesome. (Rock, Paper, Shotgun)

Some new, ludicrous details have come to light about what you can create to kill zombies in Dead Rising 2. How about a lightsaber? This game will either be ridiculously awesome, or just plain ridiculous. (Ars Technica)

Some long-overdue news about the next Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2 expansion “The Sacrifice.” It works with both games, it tells the story of  the previous expansion, “The Passing,” from the original characters perspective and you get to decide which of the original cast doesn’t make it this time. (Kotaku)

George Romero talks about his possible next two “Dead” films and says nothing at all he hasn’t said before. Also, Survival of the Dead hits DVD/Blu-ray this week, along with a bunch of other crappy zombie movies. (Bloody Disgusting)

The Ford Brothers zombies-in-Africa film The Dead is getting its world premiere August 30 in London at Film4 Frightfest. It comes to the US September 24 for Austin’s Fantastic fest. (Bloody Disgusting)

Crazed, speedy zombies, a military that wants to weaponize them and a woman who must fight her own guilt in order to save a little girl and end the whole mess all feature in Hinnon Valley, a new, low-budget  zombie movie coming from filmmaker Rick Greenwood. (Dread Central)

The fun micro-budget zombie opus Zombie Apocalypse (read my Zombie Apocalypse review here) is getting a sequel called Zombie Apocalypse: Redemption. New story, new characters, same universe. You going to Seattle’s ZomBCon, the all-zombie convention over Halloween weekend? Would you be more inclined to go if I told you George A. Romero is appearing Friday, October 29 at ZomBCon‘s red-carpet event? (Thanks to Will Thompson for the tip!)

A bioweapon attack makes the South go all zombieriffic in Project-X, a new indie film currently in post-production. Doesn’t sound too original, but the trailer looks decent. See that trailer embedded below, or visit the Project-X website . (Buy Zombie)

Frank Darabont talks Walking Dead (TV) and reveals his influences, a bit about how he’s shaping and altering the narrative and more. Also, word is Comic Con audience loved the Walking Dead trailer they saw. Lucky bastards. (HitFix)

There’s also a handful of minor Walking Dead (TV) casting announcements. (FEARnet)

And more Walking Dead (TV) news! Season two is a go (already!) with hopes of seeing George Romero (!!!) direct an episode, the composer is Bear McCreary (of Battlestar Galactica) and Walking Dead (comic) artist Charlie Adlard cameos as a zombie.
