Alright, let’s start off the day with a HUGE pile of Dead Island news, which has taken the world by storm after that amazing trailer.

Speaking of movies, Christopher Smith recently gave an interview on his new film Black Death and stated that he was never actually considered to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and read the news on the Internet like everyone else. (Entertainment Weekly)

It looks like The Walking Dead video game will be heavily influenced by the comic book and is scheduled for a Christmas 2011 release. (MTV)

If you thought the Bruce Campbell officiated wedding at ZomBCon last year was awesome, then check out the photo gallery from this Left 4 Dead inspired wedding. (Kotaku)

Well, the rumors are true! Telltale games IS developing a new zombie survival game based around The Walking Dead. No word yet as to whether or not the actors from the television series will voice the roles, or how it will compete with the upcoming Dead Island in terms of features. (Digital Spy)

Valve is set to release a new DLC add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 called Cold Stream, which will include all the previous maps from Left 4 Dead as well as the new content which is based upon user mods to the game. Sorry Xbox fans, looks like this one might be PC only. (Gamefocus)

Everyone loves free stuff, and right now you can download a free zombie short story in e-book format called The Dead Rule the Day by Rebecca Carter. (Buy Zombie)

Because I love to try and give you funny videos on Fridays, here’s a live action Minecraft film (after the break) showing just how good a well skilled player can destroy a zombie horde. There’s also a bonus video as well. (Nerd Reactor)

After the break we’ve got two hot behind the scenes clips from the special features on the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Walking Dead. (Dread Central)

We’ve also got a nice teaser trailer for the Mexican zombie film Los Infectados (The Infected… in case you were wondering) and it looks pretty good. It’s in post production, so expect details in the near future. (Quiet Earth)

It’s a little haphazard, but I’ve found a nice Q&A with several zombie authors about writing the zombie apocalypse. (Books of the Dead Press)

Nick Nicolaou is working on his latest film, Mary Doe, the first in a trilogy. It’s made entirely using the game engine from Left 4 Dead 2. There’s a trailer and a featurette after the break. I’m a huge fan of machinima so I hope this works out. (Dread Central)

The team that brought us the hilarious webseries Dead Wait have released a trailer for the upcoming second season. (Buy Zombie)

It’s just been announced that The Walking Dead stars Shane (Jon Bernthal) and Andrea (Laurie Holden) will be appearing at C2E2 so bring your autograph books! (Dread Central)

The zombie apocalypse doesn’t have anything on my main man Mario. After the break, check out this cool fan made map of level 1-1 from Super Mario Brothers using the Left 4 Dead engine. (Kotaku)

We received an announcement from Alexandra Slagle letting us know that the classic children’s book Pat the Bunny is getting the zombie makeover treatment. Look forward to Pat the Zombie in the near future, and we’ll keep you updated.

In anticipation for the launch of Dead Space 2 there’s a lot of good news and videos (after the break) today.

Just a quick reminder that the fun retro zombie game Bitejacker goes on sale tomorrow. (Mash Those Buttons)

The Nintendo 3DS may be ridiculously overpriced at $250, but soon you’ll be able to play Plants vs. Zombies on your regular old Nintendo DS/DSi for just $19.99. (Buy Zombie)

It may be a bit dated a this point, but due to Valve being awesome, they’ve patched Left 4 Dead on the Xbox 360 and the multiplayer is better than ever. (Left 4 Dead Official Blog)

Just a quick note before we jump to the news. There won’t be a news post tomorrow or Friday due to the Holidays, however the NEW PODCAST! (WOO!) will go up Friday. It clocks in at around an hour so it’ll give you something to listen to during your gravy induced comas… Anyway, on to it!

Author DeAnna Knippling talks about her choose your own adventure book  Choose Your Doom! Zombie Apocalypse! and why she wanted to do something… different. (Colorado Springs Independent)

As usual, here’s the inside scoop on The Walking Dead after last night’s AMAZING episode…

We have no idea what it is, but Valve will be releasing some surprise Left 4 Dead news during the Spike Video Game Awards airing on December 11. (Game Planet UK)

Even thought a director was just announced, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is invading facebook, twitter, the blog-o-sphere, and even online dating sites with an impressive viral marketing campaign. (Entertainment Weekly)

We talked briefly about the zombie active reality game over at the University of New Mexico that took place recently, and it appears that it caused quite a bit of backlash with some local citizens. (Daily Lobo)

Speaking of gaming, it appears that even LARP (Live Action Role Playing) isn’t immune to the zombie apocalypse, as the new game Zombie Cataclysm is surprisingly interesting. (Fangoria)

There’s a cool little history of zombie culture in America and it’s beginnings from Voodoo lore that’s definitely worth reading. (io9)

This isn’t really news by any means, but because it’s awesome, I’ve got video of the custom made Left 4 Dead (PC) map that completely re-creates Helm’s Deep from Lord of the Rings. I hate LotR, but I love zombies, so it’s a wash. (Kotaku)

There’s a pretty awesome interview with Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, the lovable zombie-killing scamp on The Walking Dead. (Buy Zombie)

Walking Dead composer Bear McCreary once again talks at length about the amazing and horror filled tones he chose to create for the show. (Fangoria)
