Theories of International Politics and Zombies author Daniel Drezner talks at great length about the top secret plans New York has been working on in preparation for the zombie apocalypse. His book and theories are also mentioned elsewhere today. (Foreign Policy, Wall Street Journal)

The Blood Lodge fundraisers have been entertaining to read about thus far, and the newest one is no exception. They’re holding a zombie battle of the bands February 26 at the Beachcomber bar. (News  Transcript)

I don’t get the latest fad that is “Tiger Mothers” but apparently according to this report they’re the perfect parental unit for the inevitable zombie outbreak. (Wired)

Foreign zombie film The Returned is now in pre-production, so let’s hope that works out well for them. (28 Days Later Analysis)

Well it looks like Woody Harrelson has taken one too many bong hits, because according to a recent interview he’s not very interested in a role in Zombieland 2. Apparently he’s “not a sequel guy”. I’d tell him to grow up, but his first name is Woody. (Bloody Disgusting)

This trailer for the upcoming film The Dead Season (after the break) looks pretty good, and well produced, which is always nice when it’s a zombie movie. There’s no release details yet so hopefully they’ll find distribution at a film festival later this year. (Buy Zombie)

This is quite possibly the greatest video game trailer I’ve ever seen. It’s for a new game called Dead Island, and if the promises of drop in multiplayer co-op and stunning visual effects hold true, it will be the greatest video game I’ll ever play. Check out the trailer after the break. (IGN)

Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespe is now in talks to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I think I’m going to start a betting pool to see how long this one lasts. (Cinema Blend)

Here’s some highlights from the creative writing seminar that World War Z author Max Brooks recently gave at the University of North Carolina. (The Blue Banner)

The Mansion in New Jersey is putting on a The Zombies R.I.P., a zombie fashion show to raise money for the upcoming film Blood Lodge. The event takes place March 6. In case you didn’t know this, zombie models are pretty hot. (Buy Zombie)

Zombo, an interactive talking zombie for your iPhone, is free for the next three days, so don’t hesitate to pick this one up. I would, but I’ve busted the oh-so-precious glass screen on my iPhone so I’ll probably miss this deal. There’s a little trailer for the game after the break. (Buy Zombie)

Well it appears that neither rain, sleet, or shine (okay, just rain in this case) will stop an upcoming  game of Humans Vs Zombies from taking place in Melbourne Australia. (Herald Sun)

Tyler Glodt, director of the indie zombie movie Buck Wild, talks about why shooting films in your hometown or small local areas is far better than setting up shop in a big city. (Victoria Advocate)

Happy New Year dead heads! It’s good to be back after a nice holiday and we’re ready to jump back into the fight with some great undead news!

It’s way better than rock paper scissors… It’s the Zombie Ninja Pirates card game, and it’s now available for purchase. (Social life sold separately.) (Wired)

Personally, I love the music and lyrics that Kanye West gives us, and his latest music video that also features zombies, along with the rest of the supernatural horde, is nothing less than awesome. The video requires age verification, so just follow this link to watch it on YouTube. (FEARnet)

Didn’t complete Dead Space? Well, first off, shame on you! It’s alright though, as any gamesave, complete or not, in the original Dead Space, unlocks the OG Plasma Cutter in Dead Space 2. (Kotaku)

Finally, Ryan Thompson, the man behind the upcoming film Zombie Apocalypse: Redemption, wrote in to tell us that production has almost wrapped on the film save for some last minute post shots for some awesome desert scenes. It will premiere at the end of March at the Royal Oaks Theater “March Zombie Madness” festival and will have a limited theater release after that. We look forward to seeing the finished product and we’ll keep you informed of any further news

Frank Darabont ruffled quite a few feathers last night when he reportedly fired all of the principal writers, including his second in command, on The Walking Dead. Season 2 is still confirmed, but this will obviously complicate, and possibly delay, the second season. (Deadline Hollywood)

In some better Walking Dead news, horror distribution moguls Anchor Bay have nabbed the DVD/Blu-ray distribution rights for the show’s first season, so more than likely it will be loaded with amazing extras. (Dread Central)

I have no idea who the Dr. Smith Band is or where they came from, but they’ve made one of the best zombie music videos of all time (video after the break) which is aptly named “Zombie Bitches Kickin Peoples Ass.” (Horror Year Book)
