There’s a spoiler-laden interview with REC/REC 2 co-creators Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza at Bloody Disgusting. The spoilers are well-labeled, so you can read the non-spoiler bits safely. They also have an awesomely gory new still image. (Bloody Disgusting)

Well, my prayers have finally been answered. A company called DoubleBear Productions is working on a turn-based, single-player computer zombie apocalypse RPG focused on survival and interactions between the survivors. As one of the designers puts it, “Unlike other games that are just about blasting zombies, the difficulties in this game stem from dealing with the other personalities in the group, the threats from outside the group, and the dangers of daily existence in the absence of law and the presence of desperate humans and persistent undead. It’s more about the humans than the zombies.” Oh.Hell.Yes. (The Escapist)

Speaking of prayers? The excellent Walking Dead comic series is in development as a TV series for AMC. If any series could make for compelling zombie TV, it’s this one — I couldn’t be more excited (Oh.Hell.Yes.Pt.2). Frank Darabont is set to write and diect, Gale Ann Hurd to produce (less exciting, but workable). (Variety)

In honor of I Sell the Dead hitting VOD today (check your local cable listings), how about a making-of video and statement from the director? It’s not embeddable, sorry. (Fangoria)

Spend $10 at ThinkGeek, get a free, ten-year anniversary zombie monkey shirt? Yes please! (Zombie Examiner)

Curious what’s going on with Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated, the collaborative animation/film project that reinvents George Romero’s OZ classic? Well, there’s a buttload of news — coloring contests, calls for comics, screening info, the works. (Dread Cental)

More zombie ants? Sure, you can never have enough. (Live Science)

I’m back from vacation, refreshed and ready to get back to providing your daily zombie fixes of both of news and original content. If you’re visiting for the first time from the Onion AV Club, welcome. I hope you find all your zombie related needs fulfilled here. Drop me a line telling me what you’d like to see if you don’t. Now, on with a special highlights version of the news post, covering the time I was gone. We’ll be back with daily updates starting tomorrow, supposing my Internet gets fixed in time.

Zombies are hitting the boob tube, via the show Medium. The plan is to do a mashup that inserts lead Patricia Arquette’s character into George A. Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead. Nicely played, Medium producers. Now I have to watch at least one episode of your show. (The Live Feed)

Need another peek at REC 2? The third teaser trailer is embedded after the break and it looks … okay. The final trailer for I Sell the Dead (it’s coming August 7) looks charming and can also be found after the break. (Dread Central)

Just because Left 4 Dead 2 is on its way doesn’t mean that Left 4 Dead is, uh, dead. Nope, it has some sweet, new downloadable content called “Crash Course” coming in September. This new one, set between the “No Mercy” and “Death Toll” campaigns, is aimed primarily at Versus mode players, but has stuff for all. (Kotaku)

As a music writer (that’s my main gig, folks) who is zombie obsessed, I cannot help but be a little intrigued by Paul is Undead, a book that asks, “What if John Lennon had become a zombie before forming the Beatles.” What if, indeed. (io9)

Sit down for a lengthy chat with the stars and creative team of Zombieland. (MoviesOnline.ca)

If you wanted to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies but thought, “Nah, too many words, not enough pictures,” your day has nearly arrived. The graphic novel version has been announced. (Publishers Weekly)

Well, that’s the big stuff from the last few days. See you all tomorrow with more news and content!
