Hey Australia. You wondering how badly you are going to get the shaft with Left 4 Dead 2 censorship? The details are out and, well, you are getting a BIG shaft. Disappearing bodies, no blood spatter, even some enemies are removed. Geeze, why don’t they make the zombies crap rainbows while they are at it? Prefer looking at things to reading about them? There’s a side-by-side video comparison after the break. (Kotaku)

The lovely Milla Jovovich is tweeting from the set of Resident Evil: Afterlife. Follow @millajovovich if you like that sort of thing. (Dread Central)

Also, the demo of Left 4 Dead 2 is available now, even if you didn’t preorder. That is, as long as you have an Xbox Live Gold account or are a PC gamer. And if you get excited about silly advertising, you’re going to love these L4D2 trucks. (Kotaku)

Kristina Klebe fights zombies in Zone of the Dead, a movie about a prisoner transport mission that runs into zombies. Like you do. There’s a music video with some footage of the film mixed in, embedded after the break. (Dread Central)

The new Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer mode is revealed. It’s called Scavenge and it tasks survivors with collecting gas cans and refilling a generator while Infected try to prevent same. It’s supposed to be fast and furious. (Kotaku)

While previewing the L4D2 Scavenge mode, the folks at 1Up noticed a new option called Realism, which they learned is for the super hardcore player — details are scarce, but I bet it will make you cry. (1Up)

Also, the edited/toned-down version of Left 4 Dead 2 has been approved and rated in Australia, so zombie killers Down Under need no longer fear being left out of the party. (Kotaku)

On the eve of Zombieland‘s release there is a buttload of press hitting for it. An interview with Emma Stone, and this interview with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrleson, or this interview with director Ruben Flesicher. There’s plenty more out there (I actually misplaced another interview with Fleischer somewhere in my bazillion bookmarks…) go find it if that doesn’t satiate you… (Various)

Robert Kirkman explains how the Walking Dead is going to come to TV. (Splash Page)

George Romero himself is tackling a zombie novel called The Living Dead which will explain a huge amount of backstory to his mythos, including the full capabilities of the zombie. (The Guardian)

Halloween in New York should be fun, what with the Plants vs. Zombies themed troupe marching in this year’s Village Halloween Parade. In NYC and like dressing as a zombie? Or a plant? You should join them. I would if I could. (Kotaku)

So that Resident Evil 5 director’s cut is apparently actually an “alternative edition” with PS3 wand control and some new stuff. Anyway, clip after the break. Kotaku also has some pics of some groovy action figures of the main characters that nerdy collectors will cream over, no doubt. (Kotaku)

Quiet Earth scored a trailer for The Revenant, a buddy pic with a zombie/vampire hybrid type thing called, not too surprisingly, a revenant. Looks pretty cool. And its trailer is embedded for you after the break. (Quiet Earth)

It’s almost here, but while you wait, enjoy this meaty feature on Zombieland. I’m going to the local midnight showing Thursday, so I should have a review, or at least a reaction piece, early-ish Friday. (Fangoria)

If you’re breathlessly awaiting Resident Evil: Afterlife (and that poll to the right indicates around 15 percent of you are) then good news: it officially went into production today. (Bloody Disgusting)

Enjoy this interview with the good folks behind Dead Space: Extraction. (Dread Central)

The short film Game of the Dead will try to answer the burning question of what zombies do to kill time. My guess: something violent. There’s a trailer after the break. (Quiet Earth)

Edmonton (that’s in Canada, right?) will go all horror festival from October 15 through the 18 with DedFest. Zombie movies on the bill include I Sell the Dead (not a zombie movie per se, but zombies in it), Return of the Living Dead and Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated. (Dread Central)

Another trailer for Duty of the Living, the soldier-themed zombie short, is out. And you can find it after the break. (Quiet Earth)
