If you’re in Chicago, Houston, Dallas or LA, you can go to a zombie walk and free screening of Zombieland over the next couple of days. But nothing for Denver. Boo!

Also, Ain’t It Cool News is hosting Zombieland screenings in a few more cities. Miami, Chicago, Minneapolis, NY, Philly, Seattle and San Francisco — still no Denver. (AICN)

And Bloody Disgusting has an interview with Zombieland star Jesse Eisenberg. (Bloody Disgusting)

And then there’s this short feature on Zombieland and its director Ruben Fleischer. (CanMag)

The “Crash Course” DLC for Left 4 Dead has arrived on Xbox Live and Steam. (L4D Official Blog)

Artistically inclined? Then take a hack at designing a poster for the Corbin Bernsen-directed, Bill Moseley-starring Dead Air. Winning poster gets shown at the premiere, signed by the principals and shipped to its creator. (Fangoria)

Give your eyes a rest with Zombie Influx, an audio-only simulation of a zombie apocalypse. Ambient sound effects, radio broadcasts and music tell the tale of the inevitable zombie apocalypse. (FEARNet)

DVD art and special features info for Deadlands 2: Trapped is available, as is the news that the limited edition HD-DVD version is nearly sold out. If you’re a fan of zombie movies on zombie formats, better act fast. (Horror-Movies.ca)

Not really news, since we’ve known for months, but Resident Evil: Afterlife was officially announced today. (Shock Till You Drop)

More Zombieland clips! Damn. By the time this thing hits, will there be any part of it that hasn’t been seen yet? (Bloody Disgusting)

Valve is appealing the Australian ban on Left 4 Dead 2. Hope springs eternal, our poor, put-upon friends Down Under! (Kotaku)

A free, web-based Flash version of Plants vs. Zombies is ready. The original was great (review here) and if you haven’t played it yet, I suggest giving the web version a spin. (Zombie Command)

A synopsis for Outpost II: Black Sun has come to light. It’s your basic NATO forces vs. battalion of Nazi zombie Stormtroopers deal. Sounds exciting, but so did the first one and it was seriously sleep inducing (review of original here). (Quiet Earth)

I’m hopeful that Dead Rising 2 will be a great game and screenshots like this one, of a guy wearing a helmet with antlers and kicking zombie butt with it, are encouraging. (Kotaku)

That Resident Evil 5 director’s cut mentioned yesterday is going to support some fancy-ass new PS3 motion controller. (Kotaku)

Can’t wait until November 17 to play Left 4 Dead 2? Get a taste when the demo hits October 27. No word yet on what platform (PC or Xbox) it’s for or whether it’s for preorder folks or what, but hey, we have a date at least. (Kotaku)

Our pals at Zombie Command have a trailer and a few details for Duty of Living, a low-budget zombie flick that seems to draw parallels with the Iraq war. (Zombie Command)

Lucky British bastards are getting a deluxe three-disc version of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead on Blu-ray. Tons of special features, three cuts of the film (including Argento’s awesome Euro cut) and other cool shit. This side of the pond will have to wait, I guess. Or buy a region-free BD player. Does such a thing exist? (Fangoria)

More Resident Evil: Afterlife casting is announced. Allie Larter reprises her role as Claire Redfield while Wentworth Miller plays someone. Or something. Or someone who turns into something. Hard to say with the RE series. (Bloody Disgusting)

A new, subtitled and supposedly final trailer for REC 2 is out, and embedded after the break. (Bloody Disgusting)

Buy Night of the Creeps on DVD from a retail location, get $10 “movie cash” (assume that can be used to buy tickets? Not sure, really) for Zombieland. Okay, you can get the deal on other DVDs, too, but the rest either isn’t zombie related or sucks, so I am ignoring it. (Fangoria)

A mysterious update for Left 4 Dead has some fans buzzing about new achievements. (Kotaku)

I know many of you don’t mind spoilers if it means you get an early look at stuff. For you, there’s a video of the first fifteen minutes of Wii space-zombie shooter-on-rails Dead Space: Extraction after the break. (Kotaku)

If you’re going to the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this weekend, you might get lucky and get into the Resident Evil 5 PC launch party, with the fictional Tricell Corporation. (Kotaku)

Zombies and malls go together like chips and salsa, so it’s no surprise that the seventeen-minute short film Zombies and Cigarettes, set in a mall and chock-full of undead, looks pretty cool. Trailer after the break, additional footage at the link. Oh, and Spain? Keep up the kick-ass zombie work. (Quiet Earth)

The upcoming zombie apocalypse film Deadlands 2: Trapped is being released on the dead format of HD-DVD. Except now I guess that means the format is undead, which is strangely appropriate. Look for a review soon, I’m looking at the screener sitting on top of my stack of “to watch” material. (Horror-Movies.ca)

After a whole long period of hearing nothing, details on the Nazi zombie epic The 4th Reich are emerging. It’s about a last-ditch attempt to create unkillable super soldiers, which is officially the least original premise ever for a Nazi zombie movie. Better news is Tom Savini is already cast, and his scenery chewing is always fun. Get a more detailed synopsis and some more cast info here. (Dread Central)

The recently released  and brilliantly/moronically titled top-down shooting zombie game I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1es!!!1 is just … wow. Trailer after the break. Kick-ass theme song, dude. And it only costs a dollar on Xbox Live Arcade’s Indie Games section. (Kotaku)

Speaking of top-down zombie shooters, PlayStation 3 folks have one coming called Dead Nation. There’s a trailer on that one after the break, too. (Zombie Command)

Sick of zombie games yet? How about a zombie tycoon game, where you play the part of a mad scientist using the undead to take over the world. Naturally, it’s called Zombie Tycoon. Duh. It’s headed for the PSP minis platform. (Zombie Command)

A disturbed teen claiming to be a zombie stabbed three siblings in the Bronx. Dude, you are taking all of the fun out of zombies. (1010 Wins)

How about another production diary for upcoming zombie flick The Gatekeeper? (Fangoria)

New release date for Resident Evil: Afterlife, the upcoming fourth installment of the Resident Evil franchise: August 27, 2010. See you this time next year, Milla! (ComingSoon.net)

In other Resident Evil news, yet another preview of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for Wii. This one reveals the camera is less shaky. So. Fascinating. (Kotaku)

The avian-flu zombie movie Virus Undead is being retitled The Beast Within and released November 3. Haven’t heard anything good about this one — one person told me it was the most boring movie he’d ever seen. I’ll try to lay hands on a copy and tell you before November 3 rolls around. The awesome tower defense game Plants vs. Zombies is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade. Two words can sum up my reaction: hell and yes. It’s a perfect platform for this game. And my review of the original PC version is coming … I promise. Short version: So. Much. Fun. (Worth Playing)

Not only is Paul W.S. Anderson returning to direct the new Resident Evil: Afterlife film, he’s doing it in 3D! And he plans to kick off an all-new trilogy! (Shock Till You Drop)
