There’s been a tiny bit of new information released about the upcoming game Dead Island. The biggest piece of that news is that the family from the trailer will be in the game. (spong)

Either this is the same movie we reported about yesterday or a different movie is filming in Connecticut, but either way they’re going to be casting zombie extras. (Norwich Bulletin)

As if Stephen King writing an episode of The Walking Dead isn’t awesome enough, if the deal goes through he’ll be co-writing it with his equally talented son Joe Hill. (Dread Central)

AMC asked the cast of The Walking Dead about zombie apocalypse preparedness and their answers did not disappoint. (AMC)

Robert Kirkman goes into great length in this interview about zombies, upcoming comic projects, and not realizing just how cool he really is. (Publishers Weekly)

Remains, a zombie movie based on the graphic novel by Steve Niles, is shooting in June in Mystic, Connecticut for the Chiller network. (The Day Connecticut)

Undead Labs gave an awesome rundown of their upcoming zombie MMO on the Xbox Live Arcade platform, complete with some concept art and screen shots. (Dread Central)

Let’s start off the new week with a couple of The Walking Dead updates.

If you live in or near the Des Moines area, then you will have to check out the new zombie themed burger and milkshake restaurant opening soon and let us know if the burgers are served “rare”. (Des Moines Register)

After the break, check out the trailer for Helldriver, an incredibly over the top, gore filled zombie apocalypse movie experience from the twisted Japanese mind that brought us Tokyo Gore Police. (Dread Central)

In a weird twist of fate, famed 1990′s comic book Xombi is returning from the dead soon with a new ongoing series. (io9)

Japanese zombie apocalypse game Yakuza: Of The End has been delayed indefinitely as of today. There has been no word from SEGA as to whether or not it was due to the earthquake. (gamrFEED)

Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright was asked by Frank Darabont to direct an episode of The Walking Dead during season two, but has seemingly declined the offer based on a recent quote. (Obsessed With Film)

Lucio Fulci’s Zombie (or Zombi 2 as it’s better known) is finally coming to Blu-ray later this year. (Brutal As Hell)

If this isn’t the biggest piece of racism ever I don’t know what is… Apparently the zombie actors (the REAL stars) of The Walking Dead had to eat at a separate craft services table during shoots so they wouldn’t make those human actors squeamish. (Buy Zombie)

After the break we’ve got the trailer for Poisoned, a zombie movie out of Israel that looks pretty exciting. (Dread Central)

First off, just to remind everyone, The Walking Dead drops today on Blu-Ray and DVD so make sure to buy it and ensure future seasons. Support the show people!

Lights Out actress Meredith Hanger has joined the cast of Awakening. Let’s hope she’s got enough teen angst. (I promise I’ll stop with the Awakening jokes if the show is good.) (Digital Spy)

Dead Island news was heavy today as it was announced the game would have four player co-op, customizable weapons, and around 30 hours of game play. (Nerd Reactor)

There was a lot of good detail today on the upcoming comedy The Kitchen Sink as several script details were released. There’s a lot of spoilers there as well, so read it at your own risk. (News In Film)

There’s an awesome image preview gallery of the upcoming Ghostbusters Infestation #1 which hits shelves tomorrow. (MTV)

There’s a new radio podcast coming out that accounts the fictional zombie apocalypse of 2012, and master record spinner Jimmy Rudolph is giving the city what it needs most in this time of crisis…. Jazz! (PR Log)

Indie zombie movie Countyline is due to begin filming soon in Kokomo Indiana and while they’ve already finished casting you can still help out and support the film. (The Republic)

Director Jeff Stewart has also finished filming his indie zombie flick The Reunion in the already undead city of New Jersey. Just kidding everyone, Jersey isn’t that bad. (nj.com)

The cast and crew of The Walking Dead sat down for a panel at Paleyfest 2011 to drop some HUGE news about season 2 of the show. (Dread Central)

Lucy Griffiths, who recently played Marian in the BBC version of Robin Hood, has landed one of the lead roles in the upcoming CW teen drama Awakening. (Digital Spy)

Sony pictures has locked in a September 14, 2012 release date for the latest in the Resident Evil franchise called Resident Evil Begins. No word as to whether or not it will be a reboot. (Dread Central)

Robert Kirkman gives a lengthy interview about The Walking Dead season 2 (which comes out in October unfortunately) and the upcoming video game. (Buy Zombie)

You know that awesome trailer for Dead Island everyone was raving about for the last two weeks? Turns out none of that is in the actual game. I’m starting to think this was all a ploy to make a movie and a crappy game will be released around the same time. (Kotaku)
