The final Spanish trailer for REC 2 is out. And embedded after the break for your enjoyment. (Bloody Disgusting)

There’s some info on the 1985 zombie classic Re-Animator in this long interview with director Stuart Gordon. (Fangoria)

If you’re headed to Universal Studios Hollywood this October, you are in for a serious zombie treat – an elaborate zombie-rich “scare zone” called “The Containment Zone” is set for a 16 night run beginning October 2. (Bloody Disgusting)

If you’re going to the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this weekend, you might get lucky and get into the Resident Evil 5 PC launch party, with the fictional Tricell Corporation. (Kotaku)

Zombies and malls go together like chips and salsa, so it’s no surprise that the seventeen-minute short film Zombies and Cigarettes, set in a mall and chock-full of undead, looks pretty cool. Trailer after the break, additional footage at the link. Oh, and Spain? Keep up the kick-ass zombie work. (Quiet Earth)

The upcoming zombie apocalypse film Deadlands 2: Trapped is being released on the dead format of HD-DVD. Except now I guess that means the format is undead, which is strangely appropriate. Look for a review soon, I’m looking at the screener sitting on top of my stack of “to watch” material. (Horror-Movies.ca)

There’s a new, international trailer for Zombieland making its way across the ‘nets. I saw it first on Bloody Disgusting so I will give them the link; you can find the trailer embedded after the break. Not a lot of new footage, but the cut of it gives a seemingly better idea of the plot. Also, if you want to click away and don’t mind watching movies out of order and in chunks, there’s a clip, too. (Bloody Disgusting)

Want to be a part of British indie zombie flick in the making Invasion of the Not Quite Dead? Click here for a pointer in the right direction. (Dread Central)

I haven’t even heard of the Serbian zombie flick Zone of the Dead and apparently the sequel is already being planned. (Quiet Earth)

If you enjoyed Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, there may be something terribly wrong with you. Also, you will be one of the few happy to hear that the people behind it are working on a verité-style sequel called Day of the Dead: Epidemic that will apparently be released as a thirteen-part web series. (Dread Central)

A guy asked I Sell the Dead writer/director Glenn McQuaid a bunch of silly questions. Get the answers here. (Fangoria)

With a decent premise — zombies in high school — and a good looking trailer, School of the Dead is intriguing. Plus, it was made by 8th graders. Read about it here, check the trailer after the break. (MovieMaker)

I can’t say this sounds appealing to me, but Night of the Living Dead has been colorized and converted to 3D and you can catch the premiere in LA on October 3. (Zombie Command)

The official trailer for George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead is out and embedded after the break. It looks a lot like the unofficial trailer that I posted a few months ago, but the music, editing and sound are all better. It looks somewhat promising, but I can’t help that feel Romero may have jumped the proverbial shark at this point. Still, it’s not like there’s any chance I won’t see it as soon as I can… (Dread Central)

I’ve said it before, I will say it again: we will be buried in Zombieland promos by the time the damn thing comes out. Evidence? There are four more promo videos. I embedded one after the break, visit the link for the rest. (io9)

If you are a fan of obscure, direct-to-video non-classic The Video Dead (my review), you can help it get released on DVD by befriending this fan page on MySpace and leaving a comment calling for its release. Word is MGM is listening.

Residents of Washington, DC get the Shakespearean Living Dead in Denmark, you get to read the review. (DCist)

Another festival I can’t afford to attend, the Austin, Texas-based Fantastic Fest (September 24 to October 1), has announced a buttload of new content that will be there. Some highlights: Zombieland, George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead, Yesterday (about a flu virus zombie apocalypse) and Doghouse comprise the zombie-related stuff. (Film School Rejects)

Bruce LaBruce, of Otto; or Up with Dead People fame (review here), is returning to the land of Zed for his next feature, a hardcore gay porn/zombie flick called LA Zombie and he just wrapped the first day’s shoot over the weekend. (Quiet Earth)

Comic book representation of President Obama as a zombie-slayer called President Evil? Sure, that sounds about right as the fourth seal of the apocalypse (the inevitable zombie apocalypse, that is). (Telegraph.co.uk)

The post-apocalypse film I Spit on Your Rave tried for a world-record zombie appearance and unofficially got it at 4,026. Pics and video at the link. (Zombie Command)

Speaking of I Spit on Your Rave, the everything-post-apocalyptic site Quiet Earth dug up a trailer, which is embedded after the break. (Quiet Earth)

People of the U.K. can enjoy I Sell the Dead on DVD come November 2 for £15.99 or Blu-ray for £24.99. (Horror-Movies.ca)

Japanese fantasy/zombie/martial arts epic Versus looks to be getting remade as an animated series. Quiet Earth has a few details and some concept art. (Quiet Earth)

The packaging for the Blu-ray edition of Shaun of the Dead has been revealed. It looks a lot like the DVD packaging, only with that funky Blu-ray size/shape and blue edging. Whoopee. Some details on extra features, too, which look suspiciously similar to the special features on my years-old DVD release. (DVD Active)

I’m back from vacation, refreshed and ready to get back to providing your daily zombie fixes of both of news and original content. If you’re visiting for the first time from the Onion AV Club, welcome. I hope you find all your zombie related needs fulfilled here. Drop me a line telling me what you’d like to see if you don’t. Now, on with a special highlights version of the news post, covering the time I was gone. We’ll be back with daily updates starting tomorrow, supposing my Internet gets fixed in time.

Zombies are hitting the boob tube, via the show Medium. The plan is to do a mashup that inserts lead Patricia Arquette’s character into George A. Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead. Nicely played, Medium producers. Now I have to watch at least one episode of your show. (The Live Feed)

Need another peek at REC 2? The third teaser trailer is embedded after the break and it looks … okay. The final trailer for I Sell the Dead (it’s coming August 7) looks charming and can also be found after the break. (Dread Central)

Just because Left 4 Dead 2 is on its way doesn’t mean that Left 4 Dead is, uh, dead. Nope, it has some sweet, new downloadable content called “Crash Course” coming in September. This new one, set between the “No Mercy” and “Death Toll” campaigns, is aimed primarily at Versus mode players, but has stuff for all. (Kotaku)

As a music writer (that’s my main gig, folks) who is zombie obsessed, I cannot help but be a little intrigued by Paul is Undead, a book that asks, “What if John Lennon had become a zombie before forming the Beatles.” What if, indeed. (io9)

Sit down for a lengthy chat with the stars and creative team of Zombieland. (MoviesOnline.ca)

If you wanted to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies but thought, “Nah, too many words, not enough pictures,” your day has nearly arrived. The graphic novel version has been announced. (Publishers Weekly)

Well, that’s the big stuff from the last few days. See you all tomorrow with more news and content!
