The results are in and the winners have been announced in the 2010 Zombie Safe House Competition. There were some really, really good entries this year and I hope this contest continues. (Arch Daily)

I’ve seen a lot of strange trailers since I started working here, and every now and again it’s nice to come across one that makes good use of cheap HD cameras and video editing software. Nazi Werewolf Zombie Inferno (I shit you not) looks promising, and the makers of the film are using the trailer in an attempt to stir up some production capital. Let’s hope they succeed. Coming off the heels of a slow news week, today is much, much better. We’ve got trailers, Trailers, TRAILERS! (all trailers are after the break)

• They’ve released the trailer for Dead Space: Aftermath. It’s got a mix up of the anime style from the last film and a pure CGI similar to Resident Evil: Degeneration, although it doesn’t look as nice as Resident Evil from what I can see. (Dread Central)
• Opstandelsen, a Danish zombie film which translates to “resurrection” just released a trailer and some images. (Bloody Disgusting)

The genius staff at Paramount have squired Boy Scouts vs. Zombies, a script written by a couple of Disney alums. No word yet whether the movie will be family friendly or gut wrenching horror. (Dread Central)

Robert “IronE” (really?) Singleton, who played T-Dog on this past season of The Walking Dead, talks about the show and his future on it. Let’s hope it involves a quick off screen death by a zombie. (TV.com)

Sadly, The Walking Dead is gone until sometime next year, but that didn’t stop us from gathering one of the biggest news stockpiles we’ve ever had about the show. So let’s get started.All videos are after the break.

• The numbers are in and the season finale broke ALL expectations and pulled in over six million viewers, setting yet another record for AMC. (The Wrap)
• There’s an update on the breaking news that Frank Darabont fired all of the writers for season two. It’s not true, so don’t worry. (Dread Central)
• Here’s a great making of video for season one, along with a Robert Kirkman and Jon Bernthal (Shane) interview. (Dread Central)
• Steven Yuen gives yet another amazing interview about working on the show. Seriously, this kid is not only my favorite character, but he gives the best interviews too. (Fangoria)
• Actress Emma Bell, who plays the undead dead (does that make sense?) Amy, talks about her brief run with an amazing opportunity that is The Walking Dead. (Dread Central)
• Actor Jeffrey DeMunn gives one last interview this season about playing Dale on the show, and he brought some behind the scenes videos with him. (Dread Central)

It was a powerhouse weekend for both The Walking Dead and zombie news in general, so first we’ll get started with our favorite zombie apocalypse television show.

• It seems the tragedy of episode four was enough to pull in some fresh viewers, because episode five of The Walking Dead brought in the highest numbers of the season at 5.56 million viewers. (Media Week)
• We’ve got a sneak peek after the break of the upcoming season finale, along with some great pictures as well. (28 Days Later Analysis)
• The Walking Dead made the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine, and they included interviews with some of the zombie extras. (Entertainment Weekly)
