Good news, gamers — it looks like zombies mode will be in Call of Duty: Black Ops. (Kotaku)

A great name, good looking cinematography and some infected Rage-type zombies come your way in Toxic Lullaby, a new German film. There’s a trailer embedded below and a teaser to be found at the link. (Quiet Earth)

If you need some free zombie entertainment, you could do a lot worse than watching the were-rat/zombie movie Mulberry Street for free on FEARnet. Read my review of Mulberry Street if you’re still on the fence.  (Horror Squad)

Okay, Oshkosh, Wisconsin — are you ready to zombie walk? If not, you have a few days, since it happens September 4. It’s free, and all proceeds from shirt sales and other revenue goes to the Time Community Theater. Yellow Springs, Ohio gets a zombie walk even sooner — this Saturday, August 14.

At last, Grindhouse (which includes the fun, infected-zombie tale Planet Terror) is getting a super-duper all-in-one-package Blu-ray release with some new extra features, including all the trailers (yes!) and a featurette on the make-up effects of Planet Terror. (FEARnet)

If you find yourself in Chicago between October 7 and 31, you can catch Musical of the Living Dead, live (er, undead?) on stage! In the meantime, look below for an embedded clip of a song from the musical zombie extravaganza. (Buy Zombie)

Get up to speed on some upcoming horror movie screenings around the country, including showings of Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond and the uber-low budget Colin. (Fangoria)

The awesome Plants vs. Zombies is getting a Game of the Year edition with some new stuff. Most notable is the new not-Michael Jackson dancing zombie (boo!) and the new make-a-custom-zombie tool (fun!). Does that justify buying it again? The Guardian informs us The Waking Dead (TV) is going to be awesome. Of course, we already knew that, but maybe its regular readership didn’t. (Guardian.co.uk)

Did you dig those Star Wars-as-zombie-film posters a while back? Well, creator Matt Busch has a whole site, Hollywood is Dead, dedicated to zombifying pretty much every movie poster you know and love. (Dread Central)

Holy crap, this zombies on TV thing is exploding! Now NBC is in on it, with a spec script for a “fun buddy cop procedural” TV show with zombies called Zombies Vs. Vampires. Bandwagon jumping, much? (Deadline Hollywood)

The first three episodes of Zombrex Dead Rising Sun, the Dead Rising movie, are available for free download via Xbox Live. If you prefer reading about things ot actually watching them, Kotaku has impressions as well. (Kotaku)

They’re working on a prequel film for the videogame Dead Space. Someone named DJ Caruso is directing. (MTV Movies Blog)

Diplomacy. Zombies. Board games. All these disparate elements come together in the new-ish game Diplomacy of the Dead. In it, you play a leader of a region of the world faced with zombiegeddon. As a die-hard nerd who loves me some board games, I’m intrigued. (Critical Gamers)

The utterly crap film Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things is getting a deluxe 25th anniversary DVD release, coming October 19. (Fangoria)

Read an interview with The Walking Dead (TV) cinematographer David Boyd about the similarities to Westerns, Firefly (which he also worked on, a great sign!) and other great tidbits. (AMCTV)

Zombie TV is the Next Big Thing, apparently, as SyFy has its own zombie series, called Zeros (Zombie Extermination and Removal Operations), in the works. This one tilts toward comedy. (Dread Central)

The first Resident Evil: Afterlife TV spot is floating around the webs (and TV, of course). You can find it embedded below.

Some footage from Italian TV has leaked for Dylan Dog: Dead of Night and it appears the movie does, indeed, have some zombies. Yay! Also, attractive, young Italian women seem into Dylan Dog, so all you zombie nerds that have a hard time meeting women should think about becoming fans. The master of zombology Dr. Dale Seslick (of How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse) gets his interview on and talks about zombie pets, zombie misconceptions and the benefits of the zombie apocalypse, among other topics. (Total Sci-Fi Online)

Just caught word of The Night Shift, a horror-adventure-comedy indie film about an undead cemetery watchman, his limbless corpse companion and the zombies and other beasties he has to fight. Sounds fun, and there’s a poster to look at, or you can visit the official The Night Shift website. (Dread Central)

Although the undead have nothing to with the movie, as far as I can tell anyway, you can get some zombies in your Scott Pilgrim vs. the World videogame with a “secret” controller code. There’s a video explaining it embedded below. (Edgar Wright Here)

Valve is making some adjustments to Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer to make it less likely to induce “rage quitting” among players. Good for them. (Kotaku)

If you pre-order Dead Rising 2 from Play.com (UK only, folks), you can get a customized cover for the game box that features a zombified version of you. (Zombie Command)

Writer/director Gary Ugarek is using Kickstarter to try to raise $1 million dollars to make Deadlands 3. Read my review of Deadlands and/or review of Deadlands 2 before you break out your checkbook. (Buy Zombie)

Apparently, Michael Jackson’s estate is forcing Pop Cap to remove the Michael Jackson zombie from Plants Vs. Zombies. Bullshit! (Horror Squad)

A classic premise gets a fresh twist in the zombie apocalypse flick Dead Genesis, about a documentarian following a group of zombie hunters to make a propaganda film. There’s a teaser trailer embedded below — the makeup looks a little rough, but the idea holds promise and Dead Genesis is a great name.
