The collaborative remix project Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated is coming to DVD July 27 with over two hours of bonus features. It will retail for $17. (Fangoria)

So, Android phones have something called “Live Wallpaper” and there’s a zombie apocalypse-simulating “live wallpaper” from Pixel Zombies. I don’t really know what any of that means, but I am inclined to think it’s a good thing. So, yay! (Phandroid)

Magnolia is prepping a deluxe Survival of the Dead: Ultimate Undead Edition Blu-ray for release August 24. How deluxe? No clue, the specs and extras have yet to be announced. (Bloody Disgusting)

How about some George Romero interviews? I’ve got two of them (one’s a two-parter), all embedded below!

  • First, he talks about Survival of the Dead with a dude named “Spider.” (FEARnet)
  • Then they sit him in front of Left 4 Dead 2 to talk about it, the zombie genre’s evolution and more. Part one is at FEARnet, part two at G4’s The Feed. And it’s a more than a half hour total (don’t forget, it’s all embedded below).

Did you like the makeup and creature effects in Quarantine (review here)? Good news, the same dude is handling those duties for the sequel. That sequel is written and directed by John Pogue and is set in an airport. It starts shooting next month. (Dread Central)

Humans vs. zombies makes it to the campus of Ohio State University. (The Lantern)

The sorta-kinda French zombie movie The Pack (they’re “ghouls” who are already dead and still hungry — close enough, right?) dropped some new pictures. (Filmstarts.de)

Within a thoroughly disheartening story about 3D tech at Cannes come the especially disheartening news that apparently Taurus Entertainment is working on a 3D remake of Day of the Dead. Because the last remake (also from Taurus!) was such a great idea… (Variety)

The San Francisco premiere of Survival of the Dead got its own zombie walk and naturally, someone shot pictures. (SF Weekly)

There was also a similar zombie walk event for the New York premiere. That one got pictures and a short article. (DNAinfo)

Did you like Survival of the Dead well enough to own it? You can buy the DVD or Blu-ray in the US on August 24. (Bloody Disgusting)

You’re not tired of George Romero interviews yet, are you? Dread Central talks to the Master about how Diary came about, why he’ll never work with a studio again and whether he ever gets tired of working with zombies. (Dread Central)

Rumor has it that zombie mode will return in Call of Duty: Black Ops. (Zombie Command)

An interview with Mira Grant, author of the post-apocalyptic zombie novel Feed, explains where the idea for the book came from, the technology and politics in the book and what’s coming next. (Apex Book Company)

On May 30, Williamsburg in Brooklyn (that’s in New York City, in case you didn’t know) is getting a zombie walk in honor of the zombie-football novel Play Dead. Tons of events including a zombie dance party, zombie burlesque and a meet-and-greet with Play Dead author Ryan Brown. Full info at the official website.

George A. Romero drops hints about his next two potential zombie films. One will focus on the band of looters from Diary of the Dead, the other on the blond who took off in the RV in the same movie. (FEARnet)

Preview some of the most useless weapons of Dead Rising 2, including stuff like poker chips and foam fingers. Yeah, I wouldn’t want to face the zombie hordes with just a foam finger, that’s for damn sure. (Kotaku)

The period-piece costume drama/zombie epic E’Gad, Zombies! is appearing at Cannes, hoping to secure the funding to finish the film. It has Ian McKellen! There’s a teaser trailer embedded below. (Zombie Command)

George A. Romero talks about the new zombie rules, his plans for the next two films, his zombie novels and lots more in this Q&A. (Shock Till You Drop)

In other Romero news, the Master revealed he’s in talks to create a zombie shooter videogame and there’s an App of the Dead coming for all you smartphone people. There are also some groovy pictures from the LA premiere. (Dread Central)

Among the just-named nominees for the MTV Movie Awards new “Best Scared as Shit Performance” is Jesse Eisenberg for his turn in Zombieland. (Fangoria)

At long last we will get a proper Bollywood zombie film in the aptly named Bollywood Zombie, about an Indian wedding that goers awry when the bride and her guests are zombified. At least, it had better be a full-blown singing/dancing Bollywood film. Details are scarce yet. (Bloody Disgusting)

Zombies are making their way to Cuba as well, in Juan of the Dead, a joint Spanish/Mexican/Cuban effort marketing in Cannes now and shooting in September. (Quiet Earth)

The upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie novel Aftertime is being described as “Kill Bill meets Mad Max” (with zombies, right?) and focuses on a tale of a woman who “recovers from being a zombie. (io9)

Resident Evil: Afterlife will show in Imax 3D, which is supposedly bad. But I think all 3D kind of sucks, so whatever. (Bloody Disgusting)

The creators of Lifeless, an episodic zombie drama, have announced the first three episodes will show on FEARnet May 17. Can’t find confirmation on FEARnet.com as of yet, but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

PC gamers will get to shoot dead things in space in Dead Space 2, despite past uncertainty as to whether it would come to that platform. (Kotaku)

More REC on the way! The dynamic duo of Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza are splitting up to handle two new films. Plaza will tackle REC Genesis, a prequel, while Balaguero handles REC Apocalypse, a sequel. (Twitch)

An oddball TV host faces the zombie apocalypse by running a continuous slate of puppet shows, musical numbers and rescue stations while killing zombies in Rose, an upcoming film from writer/director John Skipp. It starts shooting this summer in 3D and you can get more at the official website. Get some behind-the-scenes insight into the creation of the post-apocalyptic zombie world that is the setting for author Mira Grant’s novel Feed. (Whatever)

The Zombie Research Society wants you to know that May is Zombie Awareness Month.
