The folks at Fangoria take a detailed look at the badasses of horror, including Peter from the original Dawn of the Dead. (Fangoria)

The retail DVD release of Dead Snow is set for February 23, 2010. Right now, it’s one of those Blockbuster exclusive dealies. (Dread Central)

Take a picture of yourself doing something creative in front of Left 4 Dead 2 advertising, send it to the folks at Valve, win a fancy-pants, customized Xbox 360. Neato. (L4D Official Blog)

If you’re not quite ready to give up on Left 4 Dead for Left 4 Dead 2, you will be glad to hear that Valve is adding support for 4v4 competitive matchmaking. If you are ready to move over to Left 4 Dead 2, then you will be glad to hear that even Xbox Live Silver users can now get the demo. (Kotaku)

The upcoming Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition, the motion-controlled take on the game, will be released as a download rather than a boxed, retail product. (Kotaku)

Sit down for a video interview (embedded for you after the break) with George A. Romero on the eve of the Toronto premiere of Survival of the Dead to talk about the origins of the zombie, the state of political discourse and his latest movie. The popular Pride and Prejudice and Zombies gets a prequel called Dawn of the Dreadfuls. This one contains no Jane Austen. (Zombie Command)

The producers of the zombie webseries The Last Stand want you to know the there’s a new teaser trailer out. I want you to know that it’s well shot and that I have embedded it for you, after the break.

Those poor bastards with the censored version of Left 4 Dead 2 may actually be lucky bastards, since some PC testing of the demo shows the censored German PC version runs notably faster. I’d rather have the gore, personally. (PC Games Hardware)

PC gamers are encouraged to “preload” Left 4 Dead 2 via Steam (which you can do now) because it’s a whomping big 6GB. (Kotaku)

Oh, and Left 4 Dead 2 on PS3? Ain’t going to happen, because the online community for PS3 just isn’t there. (CVG)

There’s a new anthology series coming out called George A. Romero’s Deadtime Stories. It’s actually written and directed by Jeff Monahan but least one of them, “Dust,” looks to be zombie based. There’s a trailer embedded after the break. (Dread Central)

Hey Australia. You wondering how badly you are going to get the shaft with Left 4 Dead 2 censorship? The details are out and, well, you are getting a BIG shaft. Disappearing bodies, no blood spatter, even some enemies are removed. Geeze, why don’t they make the zombies crap rainbows while they are at it? Prefer looking at things to reading about them? There’s a side-by-side video comparison after the break. (Kotaku)

George A. Romero appears on Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me to talk about zombies (what, you expected maybe he was going to talk about the moon landing?). (NPR)

Over the weekend, a spoiler-filled rough cut of a new Survival of the Dead promo was spotted. It’s embedded, but they keep taking them down, so get on it if you want to see it and don’t mind the aforementioned SPOILERS. (Dread Central)

The folks at Zombie Command put up another Left 4 Dead 2 news roundup. And there was a Left 4 Dead sponsored wedding, as well. (Zombie Command)

Someone over at Forbes asks if zombies are America’s answer to Godzilla. (Forbes)

Just in time for Halloween, Fort Zombie is out today. There’s a new release trailer embedded after the break.
